Tough one here, but ill go with "sixtyten" because of the moldy, hazy, dying synth solo tacked to the end.

yeah i bought this when it came out just because it was $5 new. hadn't really connected with MHTRTC but after the first ten seconds of "kid for today" and i was like "ohhhh i get these guys now.. awesome *gets all blissed out*".
― a but (brimstead), Monday, 21 November 2016 18:03 (seven years ago) link
nevermind i change my pick to In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country
― flappy bird, Monday, 21 November 2016 18:03 (seven years ago) link
Olson is sort of packaged with Pete Standing Alone.. it's a great part of MHTRTC. An Eagle in Your Mind is high on my list, too.. it just has that subtle, loaded quality.

If you've never heard Mira Calix and Oliver Coates' version of IABPOITC - enjoy.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD9WyWzbcS0

Oh goddamnit, how could I forgot their utterly brilliant remix of cLOUDDEAD's Dead Dogs Two?
It's just a remix, but it's so much more than that - it vastly improves upon the original song, has wholly unique bits and that classic A Day In the Life ending.
Also their remixes of Poppyseed are also POO worthy. Ugh... these guys are too good.
― octobeard, Tuesday, 22 November 2016 04:24 (seven years ago) link
Remix of Beck's "Broken Drum" is fantastic too.
― attention vampire (MatthewK), Tuesday, 22 November 2016 04:35 (seven years ago) link
Constants are Changing, maybe? But it's Amo Bishop Roden, really. Or the track with the psychedelic guitar off the 35 Random Track Tape.

i'm always disappointed that "alpha & omega" isn't the autechre track off "move of ten"memory faultgoto 10
― massaman gai, Wednesday, 23 November 2016 11:44 (seven years ago) link
xp Music Is Math is so great.
My top ten:
1. In A Beautiful Place Out In The Country2. Music Is Math3. Aquarius4. ROYGBIV5. 19696. '84 Pontiac Dream7. Olsen8. Happy Cycling9. Zoetrope10. Telepath
Very heavily weighted to their first two albums but that's cos I just didn't enjoy the Campfire Headphase and while I really like Tomorrow's Harvest, I can't really think of specific tracks that stand out.
― Lennon, Elvis, Hendrix etc (dog latin), Wednesday, 23 November 2016 13:50 (seven years ago) link
Nothing is Real is my favorite off of Tomorrow's Harvest.
― what_have_you, Wednesday, 23 November 2016 17:06 (seven years ago) link
New Seeds is mine.
As for whole discography, probably a toss up between Music is Math and Happy Cycling.

now i'm thinking it's the midnight star remix.. would dig a whole album of BoC remixes of 80s r&b, their "short mix" of "trapped" was dope as hell too!
btw sorry matthew k for election night hostility :(

Playing Tomorrow's Harvest currently. Their second-best album.
― death generator (lukas), Monday, 20 June 2022 20:43 (one year ago) link
There's two - and honestly the reprise is my fav of the two.
But the best BoC remix by FAR in my book is their remix of Dead Dogs Two. Am I weird thinking these guys have a thing for Oakland? Their remixes of cLOUDDEAD (Dead Dogs Two being a particularly poignant homage to Oakland in its own way) and Odd Nosdam tracks and the cover of Tomorrow's Harvest snapping SF from the vantage point of Alameda... maybe just coincidence.
― octobeard, Tuesday, 21 June 2022 06:19 (one year ago) link
and honestly the reprise is my fav of the two
I know there's two but didn't think i needed to specify, because nobody would prefer the second one except a total WEIRDO

lmaooooo aren't we all here? I mean have you read how passionate the Autechre threads are on this board?
FWIW the reprise was my morning alarm music for a good two years.
