Opened a box a few weeks ago with my senior HS yearbook in it. I didn't really look much like this in high school, I don't think. (For one thing no idea where the jacket or tie came from for this pic, since as far as I recall we had none of those anywhere in our house.)

Tipsy, was it a fake shirt/jacket/tie combo? I think I remember for my senior portrait having to put on some fake-tux looking thing over my regular clothes.

You were a braver little boy than I ever was. I didn't (and still don't) run from snakes or anything, but hell no I'm not picking one up.

b/w ages of about 4-10, I read & endlessly fascinated by all manner of reptiles, amphibians, fish & insects (& spiders, until I got bit by a nasty one). Thankfully I grew up in an area which, while still def the suburbs, was nestled among a diversity of ecosystems that supplied me w/ ample opportunities to indulge my passion. ftr I never killed anything (save for what I kept for my butterfly & moth collection), tho I had a revolving collection of 'temporary pets' throughout my childhood.

Oddly, even tho I can barely remember what I did last week, I still have a detailed memory of the taxonomy of all those creepy crawly things.

In 1980 (age 6), I was on a local afternoon kids tv show. This was before the family had a vcr, so when it came on tv, my dad set up his camera and took some photos (which makes it look like it's from the '50s). I'd love to get a tape of it now, but there's no way that rinky dink little Public Television station saved all (or any of) those tapes.

Well, I was busted in 1988 shoplifting an Aerosmith tape from K-Mart. At the time, that scared the shit out of me, but now I realize that I was never going to be in that much trouble for stealing something that was about $7.

I just got a new 4-colour ballpoint but I forgot about the massive chunky ones with loads of colours.

Took my 4-colour one to German class thinking that maybe writing different gendered nouns in different colours would help me remember which was which, but it clicks pretty noisily to change colour, so the rest of the class was probably wishing death upon me and my pen.

I had a massive 12 color pen in primary school...they were awesome but pretty sure contributed to my carpal tunnel in later life, lol.

My favorite thing was unscrewing the plastic barrel cover and drawing with all 12 pens at the same time.

I was probably seven in this pic, dressed up as Raggedy Ann for Halloween w/my younger siblings. I remember my mom had been planning it for months and was mad the homemade wig didn't want to stay on my head.

^^I am making that exact same smile in my high school graduation photo...I wish I had a copy of that, I look like a chubby 10-year-old insaniac.
