^LOL.
I've told the story on ILX in the past; logistically the guy gave me a perfect opportunity to kick his legs out from under him. I could never have done what I did if I hadn't known a) roughly how long the doors stay open at stops b) that our door opened onto the exit so I could send my friend there to watch and wait c) dude was drunk enough to be somewhat movement-impaired though he had no probs shooting off his mouth and d) I've always been small so my uncle the cop taught me self-defense tricks no bully ever expects smaller people will use (when I was 12, I got chased by a pervert in a car while on my bike, having fled the strip-mall where dude had asked me if I wanted to see his cock, hence the special cop ninja lessons).
This started because a guy could not handle two teeny-tiny women asking him politely not to step on them. He launched into a tirade where we were called bitches, sluts, virgins, lesbians, and ugly in rapid succession - I guess he just couldn't make up his mind what we were - while an entire carriage looked on and said NOTHING. He also kept stepping on and nudging us - and my friend was barely five feet tall. I would've been mortified if I hadn't been so angry but it was the kind of anger that goes cold and silent while it plots a bully's imminent downfall. I wanted him to be on his ass on the bottom of the carriage while onlookers laughed and that's exactly where he wound up... having to ride all the way home with them.
I am firmly of the belief that if I am minding my own business in a public place (or indeed in a packed Tube carriage) it's the person misbehaving who should leave me alone or move.

I'm not a big fan of it IRL but I absolutely love revenge fantasy movies. The Death Wish series, Rolling Thunder, Shooter, Harry Brown... they are really satisfying to me for some reason.

harry brown was absorbing hyperviolent youthhating schlock that was utterly ruined by the last 5 'redemptive' minutes

I like to deal w/public conflicts by leaving while flipping the bird over my shoulder and not looking back. It's the not looking back part that really enrages people. It works a treat & is so cathartic, plus no one has ever been hurt by being flipped off.

vigilanteism is like going out looking for thugs and beating them up preemptively, or 'fighting crime'
most of y'all are talking about self-defense. anyway, i have never really retaliated in any meaningful way, being a ~peaceful man~, but i used to dream about carrying broken sparkplugs in my pocket in case i got fucked with by a car while working as a messenger.

A man can be an artist... in anything, food, whatever. It depends on how good he is at it. Creasey's art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece.

haha my favourite one was when I was on a crosscountry train to Bristol and I was walking down the central aisle and I brushed past someone quite heavily - nothing not instantly forgettable - and dude turned on me angrily. I listened to him raving at me and then said, very calmly, something along the lines of "leave me alone and calm down you aggressive ****" at which point he would have genuinely tried to beat me to a pulp if his partner hadn't restrained him. "WHAT DID YOU SAY? WHAT DID YOU SAYYY"
itt irl sbs
n.b. I never resolve anything w/ violence but can understand those who do/have to

An overwhelming percentage of prisoners began life in truly horrible conditions, with a majority of them suffering though some form of child abuse during their formative years*. This is completely unsurprising and I'm not mourning those people's deaths.

Don't need to mourn anybody's deaths, but openly cheering extrajudicial murder as 'punishment' is grotesque. Not that you were, of course...but a few people I know IRL are.
It's one incident but these kinds of actions belong to the family as death squads.
