Surprised that you could still buy those sun ray wall clocks new in 1985. There's not a lot in this catalogue is there? Not surprisingly, the electronics section is very empty compared to today.

The 1976 catalogue looks really utilitarian. It's amazing how much stuff we're surrounded by now. Also I remember the black cover of the 1986 catalogue - remember thinking back then that it was very swanky!

1985/1986 is really when they went from 'crummy little catalogue store' to 'crummy big catalogue store', right?

yeah just thinking that - there are loads more toys and toy brands in the 1986 one.

It's the year they started selling Yamaha keyboards alongside Casio, including the mighty SK-1 - only £99.00! wait WTF?!

Argos catalogue: Life lessons from the 'book of dreams'

That's how millennials and boomers have been lamenting the loss of the Argos catalogue. One Twitter user even wrote that it was his entire childhood.

^^^ I guess us Gen-Xers don't give a fu... oh that's right we don't.

Weird. I knew that Habitat had kind of merged into Argos but hadn't quite expected the Habitat website to suddenly basically be selling Argos stuff.
