Kraftwerk - Computer Love

I don't remember ever wanting to hear a song more than twice in a row and even twice in a row is incredibly rare. I need variety.

peter in montreal, Tuesday, 7 December 2010 21:42 (thirteen years ago) link

sometimes i feel the same way, which requires playing both the track i have played on repeat for like an hour and another track, simultaneously

nakhtar donetsk (nakhchivan), Tuesday, 7 December 2010 21:46 (thirteen years ago) link

That's about three hours and this is still killing it. Just as well I'll be going to sleep now.

I fell asleep listening to "Around the World" on repeat some time in high school, my parents woke me up and must have wondered what happened to their nice little boy.

I don't know about an hour but I've certainly played some on repeat for at least 1/2 that. The first that comes to mind and this might be a bit weird but it's goodbye horses.

I listened to "Sickhair" by Earwig about six times in a row on a particularly miserable day. playing emo songs on repeat when you're in an emo mood is more irritating than cathartic in my experience.

Ride - Vapour Trail

herb albert, Wednesday, 8 December 2010 16:55 (thirteen years ago) link

have listened to 4 times in a row, at least:

Beach Boys - This Whole World
Sleigh Bells - Ring Ring
The Bell Sisters - Bermuda
Olivia Tremor Control - Jumping Fences
Everly Brothers - Walk Right Back

all of these are fun and easy to sing along to, which is probably the main reason I listen to them so much.

That's Susumu Hirasawa isn't it? He's made a bunch of music like that. One of the best composers working today, and that's not even counting his soundtrack stuff. His solo albums in general are incredible.

Today I played "Wondaland" by Janelle Monae like 7 times in a row. It's just a neat pop song that kind of defies a normal description. Really catchy and pretty sexy as well.

I'm currently listening to this a ridiculous amount. I thought I'd heard all the great Human League songs out there but this B-side just blew me away.

Yeah my brother actually told me about You Remind me of Gold, he's a big Darkstar fan. That's actually the first time I've heard the cover, it's nice but it's just too normal compared to the original.

I love early Human League, the first three albums are perfect.

doesn't this go on for an hour?

I wish! It's 9 minutes long; I copied onto a C90 (five times on each side) so I could bliss out to it without having to rewind or flip the tape. (No, I was not using drugs or drinking when I did this.)

BO (DJP), Thursday, 9 December 2010 16:47 (thirteen years ago) link

Also jjj I am pretty sure there wasn't one Anthrax song that we put on repeat but we definitely had mini Among the Living parties

Aphex Twin- track 3 (rhubarb) from Selected Ambient Works Volume II

or Funeral Music for Perez Prado - Nurse With Wound (not really fair since it's 30 something minutes long)

In truth though, I think the last song I listened to on repeat, but probably not for an hour, was "F.I.L.A." by The-Dream this summer.

Professor Respect, Sunday, 12 December 2010 03:36 (thirteen years ago) link

xp yes! "The Diamond Sea"
also "Temptation" a bazillion times

I was kind of close with "Karma Chameleon" at 12. Except my cassette player didn't have a repeat button.
