I don't think he's that much more popular either, but he has more commercial appeal than Curren$y does, let's just be honest here. Spitta's not the kind of rapper to make a "Say Yeah" or even "Black and Yellow."

i think the highest potential pop level of recognition for curren$y given his style and history is right around devin the dude levels, but what do i know maybe he lands a mainstream hit sooner or later

i don't really think currensy cares about having a hit, which is what is holding him back from becoming any more popular than he already is

xps a) i don't think internet bias means anything when comparing two artists means anything and b) of course having a hit gives wiz an edge. duh. that's my point.

fyi devin the ilx bubble artist in this case. he has some mild critical acclaim and older heads know him. but its a decreasing slice of old head rap fans. curren$y is a contemporary rap star w/ a broad fanbase. he has recorded w/ regional underground artists across the country, from j stalin to french montana

he was on young money & tons & tons of rap fans know who he is? lil wayne put him on at the height of his popularity? hes been recording tracks coast to coast w/ artists from virtually every regional scene?

and both are more popular than devin thd dude, not sure why he was even brought into this

wiz & him have done joint cds together so theres a massive audience overlap

also he had a minor hit of his own with "where the cash at"

i don't think, right now, curren$y could sell out a 600 sro space in nyc with a 25 cover. maybe with wiz? maybe not. and if he could, it would totally be because of black and yellow

obvi at this point we're slicing up some pretty thin hairs here, but i think curren$y has the exact same success in terms of being seen as an 'album artist'

deej isn't right that he's more popular than wiz, but he is right that curren$y is more popular than you guys are giving him credit for
