do they make cheaper monitors past 32"? at some size point I think it's actually cheaper to get a TV/monitor combo.if you have a dark enough room, a media projector might be cheaper than a TV, but if it's that dark maybe you don't need edge-lit LED.my understanding is many of the brands source their LCDs from the same factory.

i dont think i can afford to go much bigger than 32" and that's probably only if i can get a really good deal

if tuner isn't important, you might luck out and find people dumping otherwise perfectly fine TVs on craigslist for such things as broken tuners, no audio, etc...

saw a bunch of 32" TVs at target for about $300. you might need an hdmi adapter from your imac to TV though.
