Chopper gunner is a bloody beast of a reward, especially on small maps like firing range. I swear I got killed about 6 times over without so much as moving last night. Also, my reactions are way too slow for running round close quarters, i just get slaughtered.

i suck at this too. little disappointed you cant choose much in the way of secondary weapons. i cant shoot a pistol worth a shit.

i actually get nervous playing these types of games, like im actually going to get shot and it throws off my accuracy. ALso it could be the fact that im 36 and my reaction times aren't what they used to be.

I've been holding my own. I dont feel as griefed as much as I did playing MW2 which is a nice change.

I got the attack dogs yesterday as part of a care package which led to a so far black ops career best 17-7 performance.

Those dogs are a right bunch of buggers. Chris, exactly, at 37 I'm definitely feeling that this is a young mans game. Still enjoy it though, have mainly been playing domination where you can get some decent points. Only played one wager match so far, may have to go and have some more of a go in a minute.

I am terrible at this game. It took me a long time to regularly get my K/D ratio above 1 in MW2, though, so I look forward to not sucking in six weeks or so.

I really wish someone would bring out another Rainbow Six: Vegas-style game with the multiplayer quality of MW2/Black Ops. Camping is boring and running and gunning gets frustrated when you keep getting nailed in the back. I'd like a game that rewards moving deliberately with some basic tactical thinking.

I was doing well last night and all of a sudden I am getting absolutely destroyed. Been experimenting with some of the intro guns like the 2x shot gun, the mp5 and the lmgs and they are fucking horrible. Guess I should just stick with the girl who brought me.

...and I switch to the enfeld and then go a decent 10-5 and get a bunch of killstreaks.

Ha, sounds familiar. Got hit by the chopper gunner on jungle last night, 5 spawns, 5 immediate deaths. Tried waiting to auto-spawn rather than hitting x, no good, still cut down straight away. Is very frustrating. Is a shame too as jungle is the map I most feel like I've worked out, along with Havana. Had a lovely game of domination on there.

i also hate that damn dragunov...its like firing a piece of wood. Sniping is definately harder in this game and thats my specialty. I have a hard time with the automatic weapons. more bolt action please.

First time I used the sniper rifle I had a decent run. Got like 8-9 kills. I do feel that the key is to get your kill and then move on and try to get a killstreak that will help you get more than just the handful of kills you can get with the rifle.

yeah i had a great run with the dragonov from a tower in one of the large snowy maps, picking off dudes left and right. then it was all downhill from there.

ive never had a high kill ratio in any of the previous games., my average is 8-12. i think once i got 17 and was so proud of myself.

That big tower on the snowy level, I've had that once, and just sat there picking two guys off who just kept climbing up for more.

well ive made it to level 17. whoopee. i live the FAMAS in this game but it blows through ammo instantly. I'm having incredible success with the M14 though...my gun of choice right now.

yep, that happened to me while playing demolition. Nuketown over and over. That map seems like a complete waste.

There really aren't any maps good for sniping in this - I think I've been sniped three times in over ten hours of game time. Plus they nerfed the sniper. Claymores are god tier though.

No voting on PC thankfully. They've said they're going to patch out the ability to vote for maps you just played to fix this on consoles BTW.

yeah agreed. which sort of sucks for a player like me who loves to snipe, and im not talking camping. Thankfully Black Ops has toned down the sniping to the point that there are no more of those quick scoping shitheads. A sniper rifle needs to be used like a sniper rifle...

It didnt help that hit detection with quick scoping was completely ludicrious and resulted in a bunch of generous kills for the scopee

I watched my friend play a little of the single player. I was blown away by how incomprehensible the cutscenes are.

agreed. that was one thing that always turned me off from playing, quick scoping and the run and stab dudes.

i think i hated those runners more than the quick scopers.

the single player 'plot' at least makes some semblance of sense. I barely knew who half the characters were in MW2

using crossbow on hardcore is quite daft, the initial impact always kills, so you're always exploding corpses.

I liked the multiplayer in black ops alot.. was less of a horrible noob tube fueled kill streak clusterfuck like mw2 (and I guess mw3) but the single player campaign in all cod games is pretty much garbage..

so i guess the next one is future-y

the deal they had with zampella and west forbade them (treyarch) from making anything more recent than 1975.. now that that deal is torn up they can do whatever they want
