does anyone remember that early 90's ad for Ecco the Dolphin that had Jacques Cousteau in it?

but yeah i had a interesting talk last night about how in 2001 suddenly every indie rocker in san diego had a sudden need to pronounce chest-beating undying fealty to bowie, prince and the stones

bell_labs, Monday, 12 November 2007 05:36 (sixteen years ago) link

i never got past this one part where you had to swim against this really fast current or some shit. it was such a weird game. pretty graphics for the time, though.

latebloomer, Monday, 12 November 2007 05:51 (sixteen years ago) link

latebloomer, Monday, 12 November 2007 05:53 (sixteen years ago) link

People hating on Prince are so fucking RONG.

HI DERE, Monday, 12 November 2007 13:31 (sixteen years ago) link

Yeah! And Bowie can't really sing! (But everyone knows that already, I guess.)

JN$OT, Monday, 12 November 2007 13:50 (sixteen years ago) link

This is not about one being better than the other as much as it's about not recognizing that they're both fucking talented.

HI DERE, Monday, 12 November 2007 15:43 (sixteen years ago) link

The second Eco game is AWESOME.

Laurel, Monday, 12 November 2007 15:50 (sixteen years ago) link

But one IS better than the other, nonetheless! And I say that as someone that's loved Bowie's work since before he started sucking.

"Green Grass and High Tides" is a pretty awesome song. Not much singing in it though, I don't think. And imo Highway Star is the only even remotely tolerable Deep Purple song I've ever heard. Why is that horrible band so popular?

Exactly. I can understand Jewel fans (poor things) getting miffed that their folk pixie went all disco. But this album was Exile in slicker casing. And not all THAT slicker.
