as someone who used to listen to a lot of rap but has not really kept up for the last 2-3 years, can you give me some good stuff to listen to? ive found it super hard to keep up esp with the volume of stuff out there these days, mixtapes, super-long albums etc. i guess the only rap album from 2010 i listened to at all this year was big boi, and maybe a little of the devin the dude (which i didnt really get into).

suggestions welcome. i have an open mind & an open heart.

The E-40 is much beloved but its intimidatingly long & dense.

Other than Yelawolf/E-40, my favorite rap full-lengths this year have been Earl Sweatshirt's Earl, Big K.R.I.T.'s K.R.I.T. Wuz Here, and Curren$y's Smokee Robinson mixtape (better than his Pilot Talk album). You will probably dig the latter two if you are into Devin. All three have been released for free over the internet if you care about niceties of that.

i do love e-40 and i never got around to this year's output; i should get on that
honest is a nice way to describe him; his flow matches his lyrics really well in that both are more complex than they seem and really really unique
