Will her next single be titled "Loda"?

That article is pretty cool and has me interested in the next album, but it just writes off the last one as "too mainstream." As much as I loved Loba the song I never listened to the full album. Anyone here fuck with it?

Arab Idol singer Mohammed Assaf says he has been banned from singing at the opening of the World Cup 2014 in Brazil and that the Colombian singer Shakira has decided to boycott the ceremony in protest at the ban, Assaf, a Palestinian living in Gaza Strip, wrote on his social network page that he has just been notified about the decision cancelling an agreement with him to sing at the World Cup, which will kick off in June. “I have been banned from singing at the World Cup opening in Brazil by some countries and parties which I do not know,” he said, according to the Saudi daily Sada and other regional newspapers. “This decision has prompted Shakira to apologize from singing at the ceremony,” he added without giving further details.

Lots of collaborators on her new album (Maluma, Prince Royce, Nicky Jam), which started with one
“The creator inside of me was in desperate need of attention. But also my 2-year-old was in the same need. The person, the mother, the creator — all of those little Shakiras were fighting inside of me, so it was very tumultuous.”
The turning point came last year as Shakira revisited her Colombian roots. The songwriter Carlos Vives, who has had hits across the Spanish-speaking world with songs based in Colombian traditions like the accordion-driven vallenato, sent her demos for his next album. Shakira heard duet possibilities in a song, and the musician in her got to work.

Listened to the new one. It's uneven but I lean toward liking it, more than disliking it. She mainly sings in Spanish but sings a bit in English. A number of cuts have a pop-reggaeton feel to them. On the tracks I dislike, Shakira's vocals are too adult contemporary meets 90s pop sterile.

I really liked La Bicicleta when it was out, kinda goofy but a fun song. Will give the record a listen for sure
I know nothing about Carlos Vives though, will have to listen to some of his other work, anyone got any recommendations where to begin?

i don't think it's terrible. she looks good riding that light up surfboard. it's sort of a downbeat song for her.
