i have like no special opinions on ps3. it seems like it's "play" or "stop". how do you get to these options?

antexit, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 16:45 (thirteen years ago) link

it's on the launch page for the individual film: where you see "play" "more episodes" "rate".
not every film has the audio option, but many do.
and i should point out that i have not SEEN a commentary track yet, i just read that they were including them.

Brick Frog! (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 20 October 2010 17:42 (thirteen years ago) link

even the addition of regular subtitles/closed captioning would be great, though what i'd really love would be Japanese audio tracks for anime

Nhex, Wednesday, 20 October 2010 18:50 (thirteen years ago) link

Did Netflix offer anyone else 2% credit for streaming problems? The amount is stupidly amusing to me.

I heartily recommend the MST3K episode "The Wild Wild World of Batwoman" to everyone with Netflix

I wish I could watch a non-MST3K version of it. I prefer to generate my own inane commentary.

macaroni rascal (polyphonic), Monday, 25 October 2010 22:21 (thirteen years ago) link

you really do NOT want to watch a non-MST3K version of this movie

some of these shovelware film descriptions kill me:
BRAZIL: 1944 - The plot is set in motion by authoress Nicky Henderson (Virginia Bruce), who has hit the best-seller charts with her latest tome, Why Marry a Latin?

The Saga of the Unkillable Mr. Poppins (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 26 October 2010 12:53 (thirteen years ago) link

CHASING THE KIDNEYSTONE: 1996 - When his grandfather comes down with a mysterious ailment, young Simon (Torbjörn T. Jensen) shrinks himself to miniscule size and embarks on an odyssey through the old man's body to seek and destroy the culprit: a nasty kidney stone. On his unusual expedition, Simon meets all sorts of curious characters, including a cute little blood cell and an irate bile duct. Vibeke Idsøe directs this inventive children's adventure.

THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT: 1986 - Years after his Uncle Charles (Dick Sargent) cruelly and unjustly has him committed to a mental asylum, Robert Knight (Bernard White) manages to escape and immediately tracks Charles down at an upcoming family reunion. Along the way, Robert makes a detour to abduct his cousin (Lauren Woodland). After sharing a meal and conversation, the two set off to the reunion, where Robert plans to dispense gory vengeance.

Also HOLY SHIT that the Jesco White documentary is now streaming! I haven't thought of that guy in a decade!

Chasing the Kidney Stone is amazing folks. Definitely worth a peek.
And "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia" (produced by Jeff Tremaine and Johnny Knoxville, yet) was a great doc; I totally grew up around this kinda ghetto white trash and they're pretty wild to visit.

yeah, it was a bummer. first half is okay and then it runs out of ideas and material and just becomes a bad history channel thing.

Babylon 5! Good suggestion. Right after I finish jackass 2.5

I have been making may way through xena, since I used to watch it twice a day in college. I can't remember if the first season was just meh, or it really hasn't aged well.
