this is a fucking masterpiece butt here he does play with silence quite a bit whereas what its prob being talked abt is a noise assault at all times during the length of the CD.

In that case metal machine would be OK but there's too much drone, which is something to hold onto and lessens the assault. Watashi dake is only that one track but the other tracks are proper type songs so its not the whole CD.

when you say 'shronk' that tells me a saxophone is involved. so masayuki takayanagi/karou abe's mass projection would quality BUT after 18 mins on the second track takayanagi drops out for a min or two and abe comes down a bit (before they resume again). But for most of the 50 mins its wonderful execution.

"Skronk barrage" may indeed be a bit difficult to translate, so let me amend the thread title by saying that we're talking about incendiary, guitar-strangling, inner-ear-dissolving freak-outs sustained continuously throughout a CD, or at least frequently throughout a CD. I would like to add 'Electric Heavyland' by Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso UFO to the list. I would further like it to be noted that both of my entries come to the list through the perverse genius of Kawabata Makoto.

I think 'The Inner Mounting Flame' is better representative of McLaughlin's mind-melting abilities, 'Birds of Fire' 2nd, then 'Between Nothingness...'. Since then, John has been a bit tedious, IMHO...

Err, well there are two tracks on it, 65 and seven minutes long respectively. The first track is just constant feedback, nothing else, utter white noise barrage for maybe half an hour until it gets a bit kind of sub-Burning Witch doom and then goes into the ear bleeding feedback for the remainder of the duration. It's nowhere near as enjoyable as I'm making it sound, and I think I can confidently describe myself as resilient in these matters.

Amp Worship is the stuff though, seconded totally.
