hahahaha i have a mate who LOVES the ramones and used to drive us all mad by insisting we play them all bluddy night.
just made me kind of get really sick of them actually.

I hate all the modern bands theyve spawned, or supposedly spawned (when the dumbass bands like the datsuns decided to switch their influences to something cooler - than pearl jam and the smashing pumpkins, in thier case) and all those punky rioty "grrl" crap if they sound ramonesy I'll probably be guaranteed to hate their stupid redundant poseurdom

Hey five minutes ago me and Hamish saw "the Datsuns" on campus at Otago uni, they came along to the nice place we were sitting and someone set up a camera to interview them or whatver. I said "hey there's Trinket"(their former band name back when they were less rock and more sensitive, or something) but I didn't say it very loud. They all have the same shoulder length hair oh how I hate them but they'd probably enjoy it if somebody actively dislike them

i love the ramones, they one of the (approx) 1 best rock'n'roll bands ever. just so's you know di isnt speaking for the entire International Telepaths organisation there. di how can you like the buzzcocks, the monkees but NOT the Ramones? that's fuckin goofy.

Man, I like the Buzzcocks fine but the Ramones are a LOT better. To me, anyway. The Monkees are GREAT but no Ramones either. The Ramones DID get pretty shitty after say, "End of the Century" though did'nt they?

I have to be in the right mood for the Ramones, then I really like them. It took me ages to get a Ramones LP cos I was always hearing them at other peoples houses so I didn't really need to get one.

i've never felt inspired by them, i've never felt as though they had anything quality to offer me. the buzzcocks and the monkees both had great melodies and they were harmonically more innaresting. while i am of the opinion that one does not have to be a guitar whizz to be a musician, one has to do a lot more than three chord rah rah to interest me. - hey - so you say - but don't you like riot grrrl? - and the answer is yes i do but i am selective about it and mostly only retain interest in a band if they have the same positives i already listed of the monkees and the buzzcocks. i don't like the sex pistols either. so sue me.

oh and please don't tell me that the three chord rah rah is *the point* of the ramones, cos that does not seem to sway me. its one of those things like ess-kay was saying on the s-k thread about how they are highly recommended so i have given them a chance, but i guess they just don't speak to me.

Now I found out that you guys don't like the Ramones eitheir! No wonder you like Rubicon more than the Datsuns. The Ramones are nothing like the Buzzcocks or the Monkees, and I say that as a Monkees fan. The Ramones are evil wits, like poets.

Dude, get over it! I don't believe anyone said they liked Rubicon, just that they couldn't see why the Datsuns were any better. Also not everyone here dislikes the Ramones, and who cares if they do. And finally Davy Jones' really can't dance! And I say that as a Monkees fan! For real!
