someone? anyone? no one?

nobody gives a fuck but Szabo's rare lo-fi solo record "Chocolate Coverd Bad Things" is a must have for fans of quirqy singer-songwriters records (mountain goats, destroyer, neutral milk, robyn hitchcock etc).
Szabo is talented as one can be, i'm not sure why he faded into obscurity.

haha I'm the only guy wants to answer this thread and you already know my opinion

if you haven't got that Heartbreak Scene album, it's pretty much perfect

thanks.
i've heard some songs from Heartbreak Scene, and it does sounds good.
i'll look for it after i'll be done with my small research of Szabo's original's.

one year passes...

every time I listen to his music I think: somebody, everybody will know what a great songwriter this guy is, or was. I don't know that he writes any songs any more but the ones he wrote are all-timers.

He's really great. I first came across him when I heard Dan Bejar was taking part in the Szabo Songbook. Then I found an mp3 of 'By A Nose'. He's a quality songwriter. tbh releasing stuff as 'Mark' probably didn't help in the becoming-a-household-name stakes.

one year passes...

recent increased activity on the good horsey page on facebook had plunged me into my quarterly obsession of all things szabo. such a great guy.

Can't say I've ever heard a song with this twisted lyrical content:

Odds & ends turning up on his Bandcamp page: https://markszabo.bandcamp.com/music

(via Franklin Bruno's twitter - apparently he once covered "Eleventy")
