is anyone else listening to Love Letter? right now i especially like the title track, Love Is (duet with K. Michelle), and radio message. there aren't a lot of classic r. kelly being r. kelly moments, but they're in here (e.g. the "a love letter christmas" remix)

dig the title track too, and "radio message" and "when a woman loves" and especially "number 1 hit". rest is kinda all over the place and not really feeling the couple throwback joints after "when a woman loves"

so he has a song called "number one hit" a year after he had a single called "number one"? it's starting to verge on sad given how long it's been since he had a song hit #1 on any chart anywhere.

iirc song on last record called "be my #2" and a another loose track right before that (which i loved) called "#1 fan"

this album is so great! title track is my favorite thing he's done in years. lots of these songs sound like they should be hit singles -- wonder if any of them will succeed, or are they too out of step with the times?

the stretch from "taxi cab" --> "radio message" --> "when a woman loves" --> "love is" is just one of the best things i've heard all year, just absolutely stunning

yeah, that run is incredible. love the way the first four tracks flow, too. very well sequenced lp.

I don't necessarily love this yet but I like it. have only had a few listens though. his voice sounds great, some of the material doesn't grab me as much as the rest. "Taxi Cab" is my favorite so far even if it is a bit incongruous with the rest.

i like how "taxi cab" is one of the four or whatever mj tributes on the album but is secretly the best of them by avoiding the obvious/kinda played out off the wall/thriller moves and going for angsty bad-era balladry "dirty diana"-style

first half is great, (as said before obviously) 2nd half doesn't interest me at all. the MJ tributes are sweet, i think he sounds more like MJ than Jackson on that new fake album.

Back in 2013 there was an article on villagevoice of how R Kelly had a large amount of civil and criminal lawsuits that have been filed by girls aged 13-16 that he has been acquitted for by the justice system or settled out of court for (presumably) large sums of money and how allegedly Kelly had the girls recruit other girls their age (13-16) and had sex with many of them. Sad it took so many years to confirm the story.
