They were advertised as "The Castanets." There was only one of them, though. The rest were spread out all over the country. Instead of watching The Castanets, I only watched the lead singing castanet. It was definitely a disappointment due to the blatant false advertising, but eh, it was worth the $5 I spent. Especially considering the two other bands I saw with them.
The CD is good. It doesn't make a huge lasting impression though. I don't throw it on very often.

That's my favorite song on the album. Just listen to that song and ask yourself, "Do I want to spend about ten bucks on an album with about ten other songs that sound pretty much like this?" The song is pretty indicative of what the rest of the album sounds like. There's no big hidden surprises there.

Better get up to New York in the next month. I saw them play with Tiger Saw. They were certainly enjoyable to watch.

Ray Raposa has passed. Numerous memories being posted, thus:
Raymond Raposa. Singer, songwriter, drinker, dreamer, and fighter. Owner of the most impish of grins. Orderer of the worst Subway sandwiches imaginable. Here we are at some venue in Los Angeles almost 20 years ago. A last minute phone call. Then on stage: "We are Castanets." pic.twitter.com/5IDCSNWx8M— Chris Schlarb (@schlarb) July 30, 2022
