Stoked about this. Then again, I got Favre on my fantasy team. Been taking quite a shellackin' so far, my friends.

as astonishingly great as Moss is, I don't think this is gonna stop the Pats from making the playoffs and then all bets are kinda off

i don't see why it will slow them down much at all. moss is astonishingly great, but he's been a decoy this year. i guess it depends on how crucial a decoy you think he was.

Daniel, Esq., Thursday, 7 October 2010 03:08 (thirteen years ago) link

i don't think he was a decoy by design

Well one thing that the NFL has is characters and Moss and Favre teaming up is like a buddy cop movie of the week in making.

Favre's cut line in every scene.

"I'm getting too old for this shit."

Seriously, Christmas in October. The Vikings will no doubt go down in flames as usual, but this just feels right.

I had a similar reaction to the Pavement reunion.

I'm going to the homecoming debut against Dallas. I bet they introduce the offense.

already cooking up plans for watching mondays game in a bar that has enough tequila to drown all the sorrows of the world once awesome homecoming turns into favre pulling some more of his punt on third down shenanigans

restorin' my damn eyes (jjjusten), Thursday, 7 October 2010 21:23 (thirteen years ago) link

fortunately they will be punting into the arms of Randy Moss, who will then run into the end zone

i mean weve got the oldest quarterback in the world, why not bring back the tru old school. FLYING WEDGE FOREVER BITCHES

restorin' my damn eyes (jjjusten), Thursday, 7 October 2010 21:28 (thirteen years ago) link

they would need to get Matt Birke back for that, and maybe try to woo Ryan Fitzpatrick, just to go back to the play's roots

i think i would change my mind on brett if, after taking a mean hit during a td pass to moss, he celebrated by shaking his head slowly and saying "i'm getting too old for this"
instead, i get pictures of his penis emailed to me

Yeah, LOL at SC last night building this up to be some big altercation and shit and then being all "Brady insulted Moss's beard." Like, as if this was the last straw for Moss or something.

FWIW I think Brady looks cool with long hair. It's not like he's Clay Matthews or anything.

If Assholes Could Fly This Place Would Be An Airport, Monday, 11 October 2010 15:38 (thirteen years ago) link

In the poll, I voted that Moss' beard was better looking.

Q: Is Tom Brady Randy Moss's beard y/n

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 11 October 2010 15:47 (thirteen years ago) link

three weeks pass...

so moss showed up at the postgame press conference this afternoon and talked about stuff

Look, I got fined 25,000 dollars for not talking to you all, and me personally, I really don't care. But at the same time, I do ... answer questions throughout the week, and for the league to fine me 25,000 dollars -- I'm not going to answer any more questions for the rest of this year. If it's going to be an interview, I'm going to conduct it. So, I'll answer my own questions, ask myself the questions and then give you all the answers. So, from here on out, I'm not answering any more questions for the rest of this season.

"Enough said of that. Now we get to the game. (deep breath) Trying, trying, trying to ... ah, let me hold it down. All right. I really haven't had a chance to really talk to the guys, so this was no disrespect to the Minnesota Vikings and their organization. The captains -- (Vince) Wilfork, Tommy Boy (Brady), (Jerod) Mayo. Am I forgetting somebody? Kevin Faulk. Man, I miss them guys, man. I miss the team. It was hard for me to come here and play. Been an up-and-down rollercoaster emotionally all week. And then to be able to come in here and see those guys running plays that I know what they're doing, and the success they had on the field, the running game -- so, I kind of know what kind of feeling they have in their locker room, man, and I just want to be able to tell the guys that I miss the hell out of them. Every last helmet in that locker room, man.

video has to show up soon..

too bad he ran himself out of town u_u

GAWKA (J0rdan S.), Monday, 1 November 2010 01:10 (thirteen years ago) link

it is. but the thing is, he doesn't seem like the type of receiver who fits their offense this season? oh well. man, i <3 randy moss.

"greatest coach in the history of the nfl"?!?

okay, what?

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 1 November 2010 02:09 (thirteen years ago) link

he's gotta be up there man

GAWKA (J0rdan S.), Monday, 1 November 2010 02:31 (thirteen years ago) link

bah.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 1 November 2010 02:31 (thirteen years ago) link

i mean he's probably not THE GREATEST, but shit

GAWKA (J0rdan S.), Monday, 1 November 2010 02:31 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah yeah

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 1 November 2010 02:31 (thirteen years ago) link

he's the only guy currently or recently coaching who's in the discussion right?

balls, Monday, 1 November 2010 02:37 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah i think so

GAWKA (J0rdan S.), Monday, 1 November 2010 02:39 (thirteen years ago) link

unless until bill cowher comes back, but he's still a rung below belichick i think

GAWKA (J0rdan S.), Monday, 1 November 2010 02:40 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah cowher's definitely over dungy or even holmgren in my book but if someone said 'parcells or cowher' to me i'm saying parcells w/o thinking. whereas parcells vs belichick i'd have to think long and hard and i'm probably coming up w/ reasons to give it to parcells just because i like him more.

balls, Monday, 1 November 2010 02:46 (thirteen years ago) link

jeff fisher and shanahan a step below

omar little, Monday, 1 November 2010 02:49 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah, i forgot about fisher -- sucks that he doesn't have his super bowl

GAWKA (J0rdan S.), Monday, 1 November 2010 02:50 (thirteen years ago) link

I don't think Jeff Fisher is a hall of famer or GOAT candidate, but he's great and I'm just throwing his name out there because he gets overlooked every time this conversation happens.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 1 November 2010 02:51 (thirteen years ago) link

xposts took care of bringing up Fisher. Thanks fellas.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 1 November 2010 02:52 (thirteen years ago) link

I sorta feel Holmgren, because he does have a great teacher/mentor quality...like I sort of feel that even though I dont like Romo or the Cowboys, he would benefit from a Holmgren type of coach... Parcells did a good job getting him out on the field then he ends up with Phillips who never seemed like he gave a crap. Shrug. But whatever

Moss waived by Vikings
Sorry Brett, LOL!!

frogbs, Monday, 1 November 2010 20:15 (thirteen years ago) link

omg! can we sign him ASAP?

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 1 November 2010 20:40 (thirteen years ago) link

who, ilx?

goole, Monday, 1 November 2010 20:41 (thirteen years ago) link

Segal told the Star Tribune that he has already been contacted by the Dolphins and Seahawks about Moss.

but we have little chance of actually getting him. i guess, if moss doesn't want to play on a given team, he can threaten to make life so unpleasent that the team wouldn't sign him.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 1 November 2010 20:42 (thirteen years ago) link

YES ILX

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 1 November 2010 20:42 (thirteen years ago) link

no, i mean the dolphins.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 1 November 2010 20:42 (thirteen years ago) link

Randy Moss would be a great asset to ILX
