I know, Nick, but it sort of falls flat when you're just plain wrong.

Compared to the other stuff I read on the Internet (political blogs), things aren't very pedantic at all around here. Most other forums I read are like Bill O'Reilly transcripts in terms of conversation.

Jordan - wasn't mine, alas.

It's official, inarguable: office hangover sucks worst.

Jesse, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:28 (sixteen years ago) link

I've said it before, and I just said it again, and I'll say it again later.

Jesse, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:29 (sixteen years ago) link

hey peepz, I'm working at a better job now where I can actually use the internet. I'm just checking in to see if I'm the only one going to see ESG tonight. This is going to be the JAM! Someone else must be going, right?

stingy, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:31 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh, I agree with you, John. I thought saying "pedantic" and "easy" and "snarky" made it clear that I though this person was taking cheap shots. I mean, it's not great English but it's the Internet, so who cares. Also, even if the sentence is poorly constructed, he said he's looking for someone who can "speak good English," not necessarily write proper English, so even the thought behind the criticism is valid if we're going to be all pedantic about everything.

I've always suspected this, thank you for confirming.

Wow, here are two people I've been told I resemble in the same photo (Morrow's looking less scruffy than he used to):

I don't look like Steve Carell.

jaymc, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:41 (sixteen years ago) link

There's only a couple other people here today, so now I'm listening to my i-tunes.
I got no lips I got no tongue!

KitCat, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:44 (sixteen years ago) link

Wow, I wondered if Joel Fleischman was dead. He looks less dorky than he did in the 90s, but don't we all.

Who's the other guy? He was in the Ice Storm, right?

Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:45 (sixteen years ago) link

Oh, I guess they're both on some TV show called Numb3rs?

Rob Morrow looks more like me here:

you think bonde do role will sell out?

river wolf, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:48 (sixteen years ago) link

IMdB tells me he was in The Ice Storm, but I don't remember him. I was going to say, though, if he wasn't in The Ice Storm, he should've been.

He also played Neal's older brother in Freaks and Geeks and Natasha Lyonne's brother in Slums of Beverly Hills.

jaymc, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:48 (sixteen years ago) link

xp David Krumholtz is his name.

jaymc, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:49 (sixteen years ago) link

Wow, remember when Janine Turner was famous enough to co-star in a Sylvester Stallone thriller?

So, interesting that David Chase produced both Northern Exposure and The Sopranos, two shows with entire casts that may never be seen again.

What makes this day worst is that all around me I see couches.

I'm gonna lie down I think.

Yes. I think I may.

Jesse, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:56 (sixteen years ago) link

COUCHES RULE EVERYTHING AROUND ME

river wolf, Friday, 21 September 2007 16:57 (sixteen years ago) link

In the Ice Storm he was Peter Parker's college roommate, the dude who would bang all the girls he liked (incl. Katie Holmes) and who Spiderman tried to drug.

Client call @ 10:40 AM
Client: I really need this site plan for a Tuesday meeting, can you have it to me by end of Monday?
Me: That might be a little tight, we are really on a tight schedule with a couple other things, but I should be able to get something to you Monday.
Client: Great.

Same client @ 10:55 AM
Client: I forgot about the contractor needing to look at that site plan so I'll need it by noon on Monday.
Me: Alright, I'll shift some things around and get it to you by then.
Client: Sounds good, sorry for the lack of notice.

Same client @ 11:45 AM
Client: You know, actually I need that by early this afternoon. I forgot my guy is leaving early today to head for his lakehouse.
Me: FUCK YOU RICH DEVELOPER ASSHOLES!

(note: one of these may not have been uttered aloud

Were you stuck on the top bunk or the bottom?

a friend of mine has this story about rooming with a fundamentalist christian her first year at northwestern. the roommate made a rule about NO BOYS in the room, which was fine by her (she likes teh gurlz). at some point the roommate decided that she wanted boys around after all, and so my friend found herself trying to sleep one night with giggling and a creaky mattress above her...and then she was hit in the face by a flying pair of dirty panties.

i was reading the quiz from earlier and wondering if you had to add up each time you remembered having done something, in which case you could have some impressive totals.

Things I think frequently at work:

1. Crystal Light is actually pretty tasty.
2. Wow! That toilet makes no noise! (it's nearly completely silent, except a slight gurgle at the end of the flush.)

Jesse, Friday, 21 September 2007 17:45 (sixteen years ago) link

My roommate in college had a no boys policy all 4 years.

That's apparently a real sign, according to the Flickr user who posted it.

Jesse, Friday, 21 September 2007 18:02 (sixteen years ago) link

I think my (gay) freshman year roommate had a no girls policy, except he never actually said it. I think he just held it against me. We didn't really get along.

Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 18:03 (sixteen years ago) link

Of my 10 most viewed pics on Flickr, 7 have boobs, and 1 is of Courtney's legs.

Jesse, Friday, 21 September 2007 18:06 (sixteen years ago) link

There were no girls in my room all through freshman year, although that had nothing to do with any roommate policy.

My girlfriend freshman year lived in the all-girls' dorm, so when I stayed there I was CONTRABAND. :>

Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 18:15 (sixteen years ago) link

They had the best cafeteria there. Make-your-own-waffles every day!

Jordan, Friday, 21 September 2007 18:15 (sixteen years ago) link

I'm pretty sure I never so much as kissed a boy within the Ann Arbor city limits during my 3 years there.
