I don't dig this Bear/Packer love after the game.
That's just not right.
It is against nature and forces hatred into other corners of the world.

Okay, the only unbeatens left are Steelers, Chiefs and Bears? Nobody would've predicted that.

Really, it was a pretty good week of football. The 4pm games were pretty wacky yesterday, if on the ugly side.
Sunday and Monday night were both very good games.

man that has me thinking of like... a thriller set in a bakery, where the killer stabs to death a few employees but accidentally leaves behind an identifying artifact in a vat of pudding -- little did he know that one of his victims was not quite dead, and when the scene is discovered, the victim's last, dying words are "the truth... is in the pudding..."

I was watching this with my friends from Wisconsin, and a couple of friends who inexplicably enjoy the Bears, so I could not share it with you guys, but basically all I would have done was type out profanities in capital letters every time something good happened but was immediately negated because of a penalty. This happened many times tonight.
On the plus side, watching the NFL while eating BBQ and hanging out with four of your best dudes is a pretty solid way to make up for a 13+ hour day of surgery clerkship.

― call all destroyer, Tuesday, 28 September 2010 11:39 (thirteen years ago) link
the bears got it down to about the three yard line with maybe like 1:29 left and the pack had their one timeout & instead of letting them score a td the packers D keeps the bears out of the end zone until the clock gets to 8 seconds or whatever and robbie gould hits a glorified extra point
― J0rdan S., Tuesday, 28 September 2010 17:16 (thirteen years ago) link
yeah tbqh i was certain the pack was setting up to let someone just dive into the end zone.
― ('_') (omar little), Tuesday, 28 September 2010 17:17 (thirteen years ago) link
gotcha.
i was watching highlights at noon and am trying to figure out if the packers ever gave tauscher help on peppers? he obv could not handle julius on his own.

― Muscus ex Craneo Humano (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 28 September 2010 17:22 (thirteen years ago) link
All the talk before the season about the Bears being unwise to spend all that money on Julius Peppers seems pretty foolish now.
― funky house skeptic (polyphonic), Tuesday, 28 September 2010 17:24 (thirteen years ago) link
Aside from running back a punt and throwing a TD there's pretty much nothing Peppers didn't do on the field.

yeah if anything the peppers signing will blow up in their faces potentially down the line or over the course of a few years if he no-shows a bunch -- right now is v much the honeymoon period

You guys would know more than I would since I only watched him every once in awhile on the Panthers, but it would not surprise me if one of the reasons he slacked a bit was because he was on a shitty team, a la Randy Moss. Before the Panthers fell apart he seemed like a total badass. Now he's playing on what seems like a good team, playing along with some guys he has to be accountable to and a coach maybe he respects a little more ... also, even his worst seasons in Carolina he was a disruptive force, and the Bears didn't really have that. If he draws double teams it will make it easier for Urlacher and Briggs to roam. I think he makes that defense a lot better.
