I always enjoyed Seinfeld but I never actually tuned it in. I can't even remember what day of the week it was on vs. I buy Curb DVDs...

Just watched the Shaq episode (thank you, HBO On Demand!).

I'll have a vanilla... one of those vanilla bullshit things. You know, whatever you want, some vanilla bullshit latte cappa thing. Whatever you got.

cozen (Cozen), Wednesday, 11 May 2005 22:01 (eighteen years ago) link

this show is so much better than Seinfeld - it has all the funny pacing and delivery of Seinfeld, only even MORE wild and offensive than network TV would ever allow, and without any of the bullshit (slap bass, *cough* Kramer *cough*)

season 4!

-- cozen (skiplevel...) (webmail), May 11th, 2005 5:51 PM. (Cozen) (link)

I think this was meant to sound positive, and if so, I agree. The first two or three episodes of the season almost turned me off the show, because they were focused on plot points that were fucking stupid. Producers. Sleeping With Another Woman. All very forced. But then I guess everything on the show is somewhat forced, and maybe these were just the things that were the least funny.

But starting in episode 4 with "Fierce" and continuing on from there, it's very very funny. On-point. Don't miss.

"I guess getting into trouble is FUNNY."

there's this security guard guy at work who for some reason quite clearly hates me with a burning passion. i have to pass him on the way in every day, and when he's not engaged he likes to spend that awkward period staring at me with either a grimace or smirk, depending on his mood or maybe the level of my bedhead i guess. i think his main problem with me is either my very awkward frame, which seems to inspire bizarre passions in many, the fact that i've never really acknowledged him on my way in (though this seems par for the course) or that in the early going i had a habit of 'forgetting' to wear my id badge. "where's your id badge, man?" [i hastily/lazily put it on] "you gotta wear that thing!" etc. whatever, anyway a few days ago i leave my fucking desk to take a break and head down to the basement cafeteria. there's this vending machine, dunno how common they are, that's basically a multilevelled turntable with various compartments contained wherein are various frozen/cold sandwiches, softdrinks, etc. now i've seen one of these at a previous place of work where a coworker told me he'd managed to swipe 2 sandwiches for the price of one by (i gathered) reaching around one of the compartments and somehow slipping a sandwich thru. since no one's around i decide this would be a good time to give this a try. after checking the room for cameras (!) [the very same cameras the aforementioned guard may well be peering into] i put in my money, slide open a compartment, remove the sandwich, and start digging around with my hand when the sound of cart wheels come quickly gliding into the room and stop. i pop up from my compromising, slightly hunched over position and glance to my left to find guesswho turned about 60 degrees at a dead stop, glaring at me. our eyes meet for a long couple seconds when i awkwardly open and close the compartment one last time (?) and to my minor relief hear his cart being pushed on its way.

somehow, not that funny.

Veronica Mars is also great. Watch it people!

Again with the Shoutcast streams. Now in the middle of the retarded people/Muslim episode. I will be watching this at least until I finish season 4, start over with season one, and get to the "Porno Gil" episode.

Taking a woman in a burqa to Canter's is one of the greatest ever moments for the show.
