Deiter: Look et my Clint Eeestwood imprezzshun...Ey em now Cowboy...yessss?
Grigori: Look at me...I'm the newer, funkier George Michaels, with new collagen enhanced lips (and head.)
Bob II: Yeah, sure I'm the love child of Bob (Gilligan) Denver and the chick who played missus Howell...but now I'm all "edgy" and "dark" and that makes me cool...Right? RIGHT!?
Andrew: (depressed, he silently ponders how much his younger brother -- Richard Melville Hall -- is currently, and possibly will always be, more famous than he...Andrew Ridgeley Hall.)

I can't remember actually having heard any Godsmack, but if this were actually true then they would be great.

Rammstein is nothing like Godsmack, and slightly more tolerable. If you want gruff german vocals, Laibach is much, much better.

Rammstein is nothing like GodsmackThough not identical a lot of the sounds generated by the guitars in Godsmack sound like the stuff coming out from the Rammsteins.
Godsmack are better. Godsmack are better than some bands but not Rammstein. And, I am not that big a Rammstein band, either. I do, however, like songs 1, 2 and 4 from a CD mentioned in a previous post.

How I got started writing for Alternative Press: I met editor Jason Pettigrew at a Keiji Haino show in NYC in 1994/95 or thereabouts (this was at the original Knitting Factory), we had a pleasant conversation. I pestered him for a year or more to let me write for the magazine, sending him clips from the NJ alt-weekly I was writing for, with no response. Finally, he called me up one day in late '96/early '97 and said, "Will you interview Godsmack so I don't have to?" I said yes, and have been writing for AP off and on ever since. Thanks, Godsmack!

I interviewed a band that he loved and he hated it so much he never let me write for AP again. So fuck you, Deftones!

So Godsmack have a new song and it's shitty and stupid, and as some dude said on Twitter, it's "like a hysterical nu metal update of Boston's "Rock And Roll Band"" -- really, listen to the lyrics and be amazed:

Kicker -- my friend Jeff Copas of the band Sixteen Deluxe just said this on FB:
True story: Having played The Middle East in Cambridge in 1995, while Godsmack played downstairs, I can rightfully attest that 1) no one was listening; and 2) no one was caring about the empty room they were playing to. We did laugh about them the rest of the tour, however, which was invaluable.
