to be fair i thought "innocence" was in season 3 for some reason, love that one

less funny? but it has band candy and earshot and willowvamp as a fuzzy bunny!

That is wacky imo.

i should really revisit this show. I watched it all as it unfolded but have never rewatched the series.
― akm, Monday, 6 September 2010 06:23 (thirteen years ago) link
ok, season 3 has The Zeppo. Also, The Prom episode makes me cry. The Mayor is the best villain they ever had. Season 3 dud episodes not crap as Season 2 dud episodes.
― a cankle of rads (Gukbe), Monday, 6 September 2010 06:29 (thirteen years ago) link
The Zeppo is about Xander and thus automatically dud. Always thought The Prom was cheap and the Mayor the cheapest of all.
― Melissa W, Monday, 6 September 2010 06:35 (thirteen years ago) link
also Lover's Walk.
Zeppo was amazing you're crazy.

ok yeah yr nuts homie sorry
― friends don't understand us, adults don't understand us (zorn_bond.mp3), Monday, 6 September 2010 06:40 (thirteen years ago) link
why is everyone hating on the Zeppo?
Xander, always the lame duck, gets to do his own little quiet, stupid thing to save the day and nobody knows but that's cool. But most importantly, it pokes fun at everything about the series, and okay I haven't seen it in a while but when I first watched it, I had never really seen that kind of extended self-parody on a TV show before.
― a cankle of rads (Gukbe), Monday, 6 September 2010 06:45 (thirteen years ago) link
yeah the scene where xander intrudes on a VERY DRAMATIC buffy/angel argument and then slinks off is one of my favorite moments in the whole series

Hey this is apparently on Logo now! I am watching Graduation Day, it is still tremendous.
Logo sure is a channel that will show commercials for vibrators and RuPaul's Drag Race, though.
― C-L, Tuesday, 7 September 2010 00:23 (thirteen years ago) link
it's on every week day on logo but they had a mini-marathon of shows this weekend. then they show wet hot american summer and bound a dozen times. i don't think sarah michelle gellar gets enough credit, rewatching all of the seasons, she's just brilliant. the early material with her being so conflicted with her love of angel, the loneliness of saving the world always, being alienated from everyone is so much more affecting when it seems more personal than in later seasons when things became so mega-apocalyptic. seeing wesley as uber nerd again after watching him go all 007 later on in Angel is jarring. i only recently learned that he did try out for casino royale.

Ew at all the Nolan references. Obviously means she doesn't get it at all. There really is no more room for any Buffy story unless they do post-Sunnydale with setting up the new Watchers council or whatever but that would be slow as hell and not work at all for a film. If they do Buffy during Buffy era then how the fuck could it live up to the tv show? And I don't think you can do a comic book history rewrite here, especially considering Angel revolves around it and all the shit people have bought into. So basically... Movie rewrite? Pre Sunnydale? With no romance, with no resolution (getting kicked out of school and having your family break up?)... Doesn't seem very Hollywood.
Basically they should have got Jane Espenson to write Buffy and co go to Ibiza (Angel already did Vegas) or not touch it at all.
May send this woman anthrax if it turns out the way it obviously will.

Whedon responds
"Kristin, I'm glad you asked for my thoughts on the announcement of Buffy the cinema film. This is a sad, sad reflection on our times, when people must feed off the carcasses of beloved stories from their youths-just because they can't think of an original idea of their own, like I did with my Avengers idea that I made up myself.Obviously I have strong, mixed emotions about something like this. My first reaction upon hearing who was writing it was, 'Whit Stillman AND Wes Anderson? This is gonna be the most sardonically adorable movie EVER.' Apparently I was misinformed. Then I thought, 'I'll make a mint! This is worth more than all my Toy Story residuals combined!' Apparently I am seldom informed of anything. And possibly a little slow. But seriously, are vampires even popular any more?I always hoped that Buffy would live on even after my death. But, you know, AFTER. I don't love the idea of my creation in other hands, but I'm also well aware that many more hands than mine went into making that show what it was. And there is no legal grounds for doing anything other than sighing audibly. I can't wish people who are passionate about my little myth ill. I can, however, take this time to announce that I'm making a Batman movie. Because there's a franchise that truly needs updating. So look for The Dark Knight Rises Way Earlier Than That Other One And Also More Cheaply And In Toronto, rebooting into a theater near you.Leave me to my pain! Sincerely, Joss Whedon."
