"chilled coughphee" is great

i think 'pilot talk' starts & ends really well -- the middle portion is kinda soft tho -- "seat change" beat is one of my least favorite of the year

michael knight is aight but that song w/ fiend is so dope

Hmmm, I actually feel like it takes a few tracks to really warm up. And that's including "Seat Change," which I agree is a bit weak. After that, though? My favorite three-track sequence on the album is right in the middle: "Roasted" (love the juxtaposition of hungry articulate rapping w/ that super-mellow weed-haze wood flute)->"Skybourne"->"Hangover."

"Address" should be the closer, to be honest. Switch the order of that and "Life Under the Scope," which has a kind of dinky beat, and you have a great closer.

'i told you so' was that curren$y was much better than pilot talk let on, based on his earlier mixtapes, which i mentioned/discussed upthread. ppl who included the 1st on one best-of lists are chumps imo -- subpar

also 'i told u so' is kind of basic-level deej persona ish

I'm still working through PT2, understand, but without it I listened to PT1 for months as a series of discrete moments, rarely getting a sense of who Curren$y was.

i can see how that would happen -- esp if by 'who he is' you mean ... how he is about his art? kind of?

can't wait to hear pilot talk 2 (it's in the mail) -- really dug the first one
