the young of the nation need a voice that speaks their language, after all

rage for the machine (banaka), Friday, 27 August 2010 03:14 (thirteen years ago) link

we mean this literally, by the way. most of the collective is based outside of north america.

banaka, what is your preferred clan in Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri?

Jaw dropping, thong dropping monster (kingfish), Friday, 27 August 2010 04:32 (thirteen years ago) link

bakana, how is "surrender" not the best song?

a dystopian society awaits if we continue on this path. (contenderizer), Friday, 27 August 2010 04:38 (thirteen years ago) link

boxers or briefs?

teeeheeeheeheeeheeeheeeheehee!

teeeeeheeheeheeeheehee!

Z S, Friday, 27 August 2010 04:38 (thirteen years ago) link

similarly, is the studio or Budokan live recording the better version?

Jaw dropping, thong dropping monster (kingfish), Friday, 27 August 2010 04:39 (thirteen years ago) link

we do not play very many computer games.

"surrender" is a wonderful song when it comes from the mouths of our enemies, prefaced by "we"

boxers.

it is our policy to prefer studio versions to live versions.

Daddy or chips?

banaka, do you feel a kinship with the Portuguese Man o' War? Are you capable of feeling "kinship" at all?

sharkless dick stick (Abbbottt), Friday, 27 August 2010 16:54 (thirteen years ago) link

Excellent question. A Portuguese Man O' War is certainly closer to what we are than a beehive, and in that sense we do hold a certain respect for it as one of our antecedents. In a collective where all the parts serve the whole, "kinship" is somewhat of an obsolete concept.

rage for the machine (banaka), Friday, 27 August 2010 18:56 (thirteen years ago) link

banaka, does a collective entity have sexual desire at all?

sharkless dick stick (Abbbottt), Friday, 27 August 2010 20:48 (thirteen years ago) link

we abhor sex

rage for the machine (banaka), Friday, 27 August 2010 20:50 (thirteen years ago) link

Banaka, do you feel kinship with Tommy Wiseau?

Jaw dropping, thong dropping monster (kingfish), Friday, 27 August 2010 20:52 (thirteen years ago) link

do not mention that name around us

rage for the machine (banaka), Friday, 27 August 2010 20:53 (thirteen years ago) link

How many SB's do you have?

call all destroyer, Monday, 30 August 2010 15:26 (thirteen years ago) link

omg the Portuguese Man o' War is awesome. I thought it was just some kind of jellyfish.

What do you have against sex, Banaka? Surely a collective entity like you should be all over the expression of free-floating internal desire.

Antoine Bugleboy (Merdeyeux), Monday, 30 August 2010 16:20 (thirteen years ago) link

hey guys. just letting ya know i've renounced my beliefs since my breakdown the other night (i started drinking again.)

i was having a hard time after a breakup and a mugging (by an old college friend no less) several months ago.

one day several months ago i answered a "help wanted ad" for a "political advocacy group". after several days spent questioning my political and spiritual beliefs it became apparent that this was not a normal job interview, but recruitment into some kind of cult.

i still don't know the group's name, or if they even have one (i had personal contact with only 3 members). the intense, highly unorthodox interview process went on for almost a week. eventually the group's propaganda started to make "sense" and everything "clicked". i'd never really been very political before this, but suddenly a great sense of urgency had filled my being. i felt an intense desire to take my new understanding and inflict it on others. i have to admit, the thrill of militancy is quite intoxicating.

i was asked by my handler to spread propaganda over the internet to spread the group's message, and i was only glad to take up the task.

afterward i only had sporadic contact with the group until last week there was a message instructing me to stop, with no further elaboration. i was puzzled, and considered following the order, as a good collectivist agent should. but ignored them. the feeling of superiority i was feeling was too much to give up. i hadn't felt this alive in months. but i was also hurting inside. the Code said for us to shun needless pleasure, to shun distractions. but i couldn't do it. suppressing one's emotions is hard, hard work. i started drinking again sunday night. i lost control of myself and all my feelings poured out. i won't drink anymore, but i'm glad i did that night.

i still don't know why they asked me to stop. i have not heard from them since, and frankly i don't want to. i want to be myself again.

banaka is a childhood nickname! i've had a lifelong battle with halitosis, and my sister would always put her fingers in a cross (as if to ward off evil) and yell "binaca! binaca!" at me.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but have you ever been diagnosed with a mental illness? This sounds less like an actual occurrence and more like the result of a psychotic episode.

you know what's truly boring? trying to adhere to someone else's belief system and not think for yourself. not only is it boring, it is soul crushing.

i am who i am, take me or leave me. i am starting fresh and i haven't felt this good since i was younger.

Starting right out making yourself the subject is poor form, cults, muggings, breakdowns and weird job interviews notwithstanding. What else you got to offer?

Aimless, Wednesday, 1 September 2010 04:44 (thirteen years ago) link

i only have myself to offer.
