I hear some signs of IDM in the more electronic parts of today's R&B, whereas the electro revival main skips the entire 90s electronica and goes straight to 80s synthpop and electro for influence.

Bush actually did pretty well, I think. Fairly articulate, though still flailing about trying to cover his ass and spin the losses at points. He was right to smack down the reporter who asked him to explain the comments made two days ago about Rumsfeld staying on about forty-five seconds after he'd already explained himself. His justifications (hadn't met w/ people, made final decision, not wanting to announce it right before election) were valid.

He may have some surprises up his sleeve for possibly Schwarzeneggerification of last two years of his presidency, but I guess we'll see.

In a way, yes, just like the old "Absolut Musik" ideal of the composers. But, you know, a melody is a very concrete thing too because it sounds in a certain way.
Beethoven never heard his 9th Symphony, but we all know what it sounds like, no?

I should totally dig out this weird old late '60s comedy record I got a while back that is basically a totally rural Southern white dude making "I am a totally rural Southern white dude and confused at the modern world" jokes at the Apollo -- his name's Dick Davy and the album is called You're a Long Way from Home, Whitey.

put it this way, if i was pursuing someone i'd either hook up with them on first meeting or i'd get their phone number and arrange something pronto without involving the internet. what the internet does however is keep a database of existing contacts so that one's social context can be improved upon every subsequent sortie into Real Life.

Well, maybe I was being melodramatic, but it's still been a pointless circular ILM blow-out of the most futile proportions. It's also been educational about the sort of music it's better not to be educated about; the Hadouken video should have signalled the end, IMO... :P

Nah, it's just that this thread has trodden the same ground repeatedly, run its course, and needs to be put to rest ASAP.
