That's a future Legend of the Sheffield Shield right there unless he does something stupid like get a regular Test spot.

As the KFC XI take on the Johnnie Walker XI, I am reading a piece of EM Swanton from 1977 delightfully entitled 'And the devil take Kerry Packer': http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/cricketer/content/story/316467.html

three weeks pass...

Anyone think the tour will go ahead? I think harmison will pull out and if a few others follow pietersen might bring the entire team home so its a collective decision and no players will carry the can on their own.

Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 7 December 2008 18:34 (fifteen years ago) link

England's two-Test series in India has been given the go-ahead after players were assured there would be no threat to their safety at a meeting on Sunday.

England, who are currently at a training camp in Abu Dhabi, will take a full squad of players.

England's one-day series in India was cut short after the 26 November terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

Players and staff returned home and were given time alone to decide whether they wanted to return for the Tests.

Straight into the Wormwood Scrubs first XI I guess.

NickB, Tuesday, 9 December 2008 13:14 (fifteen years ago) link

Wow Indian collapse in progress, 100-odd for 5!

Neil S, Friday, 12 December 2008 10:30 (fifteen years ago) link

This is why one day and 20/20 is rubbish. We can actually field a decent test side.

Ed, Friday, 12 December 2008 10:34 (fifteen years ago) link

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here

Vicious Cop Kills Gentle Fool (Tom D.), Friday, 12 December 2008 10:35 (fifteen years ago) link

x-post Yeah we're consistently competitive in Tests, even if we've been a bit disappointing over the last year or 2. A series win or draw would be good with the Aussies looming on the horizon.

But yeah let's not get carried away!

Neil S, Friday, 12 December 2008 10:37 (fifteen years ago) link

two weeks pass...

lol Australia suck

Neil S, Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:17 (fifteen years ago) link

Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:19 (fifteen years ago) link

There's a gloating thread well in operation already. And better still, it's on King Boy Pato's own board.

claudestock carpentinieri (country matters), Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:19 (fifteen years ago) link

They're gonna panic and bring back Warne to win the Ashes.

Pfunkboy Formerly Known As... (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:20 (fifteen years ago) link

Where is this thread of gloating?

Neil S, Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:23 (fifteen years ago) link

Warne's been commentating during this test, he is prob less awful than healy.

Filmer Thomas (wilter), Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:25 (fifteen years ago) link

xp also he's looking pretty trim

Filmer Thomas (wilter), Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:26 (fifteen years ago) link

Warne's an all-round better thinker, talker and player than Healy, should sign him up permanently tbh

claudestock carpentinieri (country matters), Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:27 (fifteen years ago) link

^

Filmer Thomas (wilter), Tuesday, 30 December 2008 01:27 (fifteen years ago) link
