One of their best. Good entry point to the Boris catalog.

Pink obviously still to come.

I wonder if Absolutego will place, though?

Oh, for fucks sake.

Bill, did you vote for Absolutego?

ilxor has truly been got at and become an ILXor (ilxor), Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:25 (thirteen years ago) link

Another one? Wow - every Boris fan in the world is apparently on ILM. I learned something from this poll after all.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:27 (thirteen years ago) link

God, it's so great to see some non-American metal bands on this poll.

ilxor has truly been got at and become an ILXor (ilxor), Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:30 (thirteen years ago) link

and bands with females in it too!!

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:31 (thirteen years ago) link

Seriously, it was looking like an American sausage fest in here for a while.

^ new board description?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:36 (thirteen years ago) link

Crazy American bands like Led Zeppelin and Iron Maiden.

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:36 (thirteen years ago) link

Not enough dogs on the thread.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:39 (thirteen years ago) link

Good question, actually. A casual count comes up with something like a third non-American? Maybe more? Then again, I didn't want to assume every black metal band comes from Europe, so for all I know all that hard stuff will up the foreign (non-American) quotient.

AMERICA NUMBER 1 YEAH GO YANKEES!

Henry Kvlt Pvp, Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:46 (thirteen years ago) link

Most of the bands previously unknown to me have turned out to be from The States when I investigate them.

Something I've been wondering all along in these polls, where are the Motorhead fans Did primal scream covering them put ilxors off?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 12 August 2010 15:56 (thirteen years ago) link

This is one of the all time great American metal albums.

This and Overkill and Ace Of Spades, seems well enough represented, though I prefer Bomber over the live one.

Carcass are putatively on a to-listen list! ANATOMY METAL 4EVA

BLACK METAL IST KRIIIIIIIEEEEGGGGGGGGGGGG (acoleuthic), Thursday, 12 August 2010 16:54 (thirteen years ago) link

So you like Heart?

EZ Snappin, Thursday, 12 August 2010 16:54 (thirteen years ago) link

Still can't bring myself to listen to a band called Carcass.

Shallow, I know.

ilxor has truly been got at and become an ILXor (ilxor), Thursday, 12 August 2010 16:56 (thirteen years ago) link

Heartwork kind of marks their break from anatomy metal. It has incredibly solid, almost traditional songwriting wrapped up in the most perfectly calibrated overdriven soundscapes.

rhythm fixated member (chap), Thursday, 12 August 2010 16:56 (thirteen years ago) link

ha if that name is a no go, there are going to be a lot of unpassable hallways in the metal world imo xpost

gg eileen (jjjusten), Thursday, 12 August 2010 16:57 (thirteen years ago) link

I really like that Agalloch song until the singer breaks into the "scary" voice around 7 minutes. It's really hard to take that shit seriously.
