Seeing Corrupted was my highlight of last year (apart from seeing Head of David, but being one of my favourites ever so I am biased) I am obviously delighted but I still feel not enough people love them.
Also belated WTF you have got Godflesh and Napalm Death RONG you muppets etc.

I guess this is the place to admit that while I enjoy a bunch of Zeppelin songs (and particularly that great How the West was Won live show album from a few years ago) I find a vast amount of their stuff totally redundant and boring and I think I only voted for Physical Graffiti and couldn't bother voting for any of the other albums.
― Mordy, Wednesday, 11 August 2010 20:10 (thirteen years ago) link
the next band up dabbled in the avant garde, one of the 1st euro metal bands to do so probably. Influenced so many styles too. This is their first album, but LJ would love their others bar one awful album we pretend never happened.

Never got into Celtic Frost. Probably totally unrelated, but I always lumped them together in my mind with Iced Earth and Hammerfall. Could not explain why (except that Frost + Ice are both cold things).
― Mordy, Wednesday, 11 August 2010 20:15 (thirteen years ago) link
I have general dislike for Zeppelin, but I like In through the out door, mainly for the song Carouselambra. The rest of their catalogue is very spotty, in my opinion.
― Chicago to Philadelphia: "Suck It" (Bill Magill), Wednesday, 11 August 2010 20:15 (thirteen years ago) link
xp to Mordy--yeah I think a lot of people think that Zep was a bit repetitive and monochromatic sometimes, and it made listening to all their albums kind of tiresome...I ended up picking two or three (I, III, & IV) and not fuck with most of the rest....
― demons a. real (Drugs A. Money), Wednesday, 11 August 2010 20:15 (thirteen years ago) link
you can be monochromatic when you are painting with the awesomest colors
― How could you forget the crazy hooker? (HI DERE), Wednesday, 11 August 2010 20:16 (thirteen years ago) link
no doubt, but there's a lot of awesome colors in music. even Monet gets boring
― Mordy, Wednesday, 11 August 2010 20:18 (thirteen years ago) link
I think Zepplin monochromaticism is wildly overstated, anyway
― How could you forget the crazy hooker? (HI DERE), Wednesday, 11 August 2010 20:21 (thirteen years ago) link
Oh, I probably voted for them all, except maybe II. I'd've even slung Coda and The Song Remains The Same a couple of points if they'd been nommed. I haven't heard 'How The West Was Won' - why wasn't it nominated?!
I do like a bit of Zep.

Morbid Tales is (I think) my favourite. (awaits someone telling me I gave more points to To Megatherion).
