gf loved them, and loved the book- feel kinda guilty that i've not been able to get into it.

tried watching the dvd- JRM is awful, i literally cannot watch him in it.

i kinda wish i hadn't read song of ice and fire books since now its looking like the series is never gonna be finished and it's just an endless jumble of cliffhangers and loose ends

i refused to ever start the wheel of time series until it's been completed, for the same reason

like it's been 5 years now since the 4th book came out and i forget all the plot details and will probably have to reread all 4000 pages of the existing books if i'm to continue onward in the future

it's definitely the best of the best w/r/t pulpy fantasy series though, i loved it the first time through

despite the at times godawful writing i think wot is 'better' and a 'bigger achievement' in fantasy than songs of fire & ice. the plotting and world-building are just n/l
