Hello all. So, I see we have classic Sabbath and Motörhead records right here - did you decide to start with 1 and go up to 100? 'Cuz I could totally see these as 1 & 2, even if I didn't vote for either.

I voted for both Sabotage and Ace of Spades. Some discussion going on about them both here - What's the first modern metal album?
― Fastnbulbous, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 21:31 (thirteen years ago) link
SABOTAGE WAY TOO LOW although I didn't actually vote for it thinking about it, but I should have for side 1 alone.

Actually, yes, Kurt was far too high when he made this album...

Bleach was my highest-placed Nirvana album, I think appropriately for a metal poll.

I love Nevermind, even though I haven't heard it in a few years. I think it's one of their better albums. But I didn't vote for it, because I thought it had no place in a metal poll.
― more lunacy and witchcraft! (kkvgz), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 21:55 (thirteen years ago) link
Yeah, Bleach is the only Nirvana album that belongs in a poll like this. Nevermind was always going to show somewhere, though, so this is a reasonable placing. [n.b. I like both albums, I just don't think Nevermind is that heavy]
― emil.y, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 21:56 (thirteen years ago) link
Nevermind is just as heavy as Sabotage fwiw
― Darin, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 22:05 (thirteen years ago) link
I've had reservations about the production, but no one was moved to veto it. Certainly heavier than MSP. I might be one of the few people who didn't much like it when it came out as I preferred Bleach, and about 40 other albums that came out in 1991, but over the years I had to admit I like it more and more.
― Fastnbulbous, Tuesday, 10 August 2010 22:06 (thirteen years ago) link
I'm listening to Fudge Tunnel right now and it reminds me a lot of Bleach.
― more lunacy and witchcraft! (kkvgz), Tuesday, 10 August 2010 22:06 (thirteen years ago) link
Fudge Tunnel were briefly touted as the UK's answer to Nirvana (Helmet would be a better comparison)
