I think most of the humor re: the Dodson thing is related to all those "stupid criminal" stories that you always hear about, only this one's got the tables turned even more with the victim and her family publicly threatening the attacker. It's nice to see someone get to mouth of about something you're in righteous agreement with on such a boring formal format as the local news. Plus, the autotune-the-news guys turned it into an impossibly catchy song. I'm not sure how much of it's really race-based. I'm white, btw.

I watched it & I thought that dude was pretty awesome. He's got some righteous rage because his sister almost got raped. I thought it made sense that he'd stick up for her like that, even if the way he's letting off steam is a little OTT.
