my ballot is pretty false, but even I couldn't bring myself to vote for Pearl Jam (only grunge on it is Soundgarden). so far Presence and Bad Reputation are the only things from it that have shown up.

I didn't vote for them either

Okay, someone on this thread is bound to know this- what band other than Saxon did a song called (or prominently featuring the lyrics) "Stand up and be counted"? I get the feeling it might have been Venom...?

^title track on this is probably seriously underrated. Also, Underwater Love.

The Real Thing reminds me of a really good summer, going over my friend's house every afternoon to watch Totally Pauly on MTV, making shit in the kitchen while her mom was at work, and skating in the back yard (which was mostly concrete for some reason).
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 6 August 2010 18:31 (thirteen years ago) link
why were you shitting in her kitchen? Did mtv play some death metal and you just did it?

still JF, dude; not cool to shit in yr friend's kitchen
Anyway, to clarify, we experimented with cooking while listening to The Real Thing (and Mother's Milk) a lot that summer. None of it was really good, but it was all fattening.
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 6 August 2010 18:37 (thirteen years ago) link
I'll leave the breast milk joke to dan this time

I used to own The Real Thing, but only listened to Falling to Pieces and Epic (which still has massive pwnage)

Girlschool played here a few years back I think before key member Kelly Johnson died. I'm sorry I missed 'em. Great album. Bad Reputation might be my 2nd fave Thin Lizzy after Black Rose, so it should be higher. Judas Priest Stained Class might be their second best one, so I'm surprised to see it so low. Thumbs up to Ghost Reveries, Killer, I Against I, In Rock, Spine of God, Sin After Sin, Conference, Wheels of Steel, Killing Joke. I like the guitar playing on Presence. I think it was MOJO that had a great story about 4-6 years ago, reassessing Presence and talking about what the band was going through at the time (Plant had a child die I believe).
Is it maybe pointless to talk about "false metal" in a poll that includes all things heavy rock, where people had the opportunity to veto stuff?

the people who really do believe in the false metal stuff refuse to vote in polls and wont read this thread
