lol metal folks don't like to talk about music all that much; too busy headbanging I guess
― people are for loving (HI DERE), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:20 (thirteen years ago) link
Metal people like to talk about good music. next.
― EZ Snappin, Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:20 (thirteen years ago) link
There really is no crust/grindcore love on this board, is there? I fear for my albums poll (although it's probably more canon than tracks).
― Hey Jabulani! Pope of four four two. (aldo), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:21 (thirteen years ago) link
I do hope the album poll is more canon. But this isn't giving me much hope.
― EZ Snappin, Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:22 (thirteen years ago) link
The albums poll will be a different beast, I pretty sure.
― Green Manalishi (Viceroy), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:24 (thirteen years ago) link
See? Canon makes people happy.
― Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:25 (thirteen years ago) link
I like Kyuss just fine. Not enough to vote for any tracks (or albums), but I like them just fine.
And fucking AWK BRINGS IT!
― Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:26 (thirteen years ago) link
Communal agreement is important for social animals and it makes them happy. But this was unfettered democracy and the results are sometimes messy.
― Green Manalishi (Viceroy), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:27 (thirteen years ago) link
This actually makes me want to find a metal board that better suits my own tastes, because you guys are a bunch of sourpusses.
― Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:27 (thirteen years ago) link
um how can the guy cursing every new entry and shouting loudly about how everyone else sucks get away with calling anyone else a sourpuss
― people are for loving (HI DERE), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:28 (thirteen years ago) link
The problem with the kind of metal that I like, though, is that people are either too embarrassed to admit they used to like it or they're still LIVING IT EVERYDAY. I fall somewhere in between these extremes.
― Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:29 (thirteen years ago) link
xp haha!
Canon, shmanon. I have a pet theory that the validity of a metal album poll is directly related to how high Vol. 4 places. The higher up the placing, the better the poll.
― Chicago to Philadelphia: "Suck It" (Bill Magill), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:29 (thirteen years ago) link
I just mean a majority of what's here is sourpuss music. Not much fun to be found between here and #100.
one of my fave songs ever next, i voted for it, most of you probably voted for it, you always knew it would be here, and if you don't join me in mass communal cyber air guitar to one of the greatest outros ever, why are you here?!
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:30 (thirteen years ago) link
"Purple Rain"?

― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:32 (thirteen years ago) link
9. Metallica - Fade to Black (1984) (584 Points, 15 votes)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-PGZ3qEPzw
That's a legit placing.
― Chicago to Philadelphia: "Suck It" (Bill Magill), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:33 (thirteen years ago) link
well that was odd, hitting play on that video and putting my headphones on, forgetting I was playing the Big Boi album in the background
― people are for loving (HI DERE), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:33 (thirteen years ago) link
ok, I'm onboard...
― mass communal cyber air guitar (Viceroy), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:33 (thirteen years ago) link

― Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:34 (thirteen years ago) link

― people are for loving (HI DERE), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:35 (thirteen years ago) link

― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:36 (thirteen years ago) link
john has never played you this album?
Can there really be acoustic guitars on the 9th heaviest song of all time? For the love of Satan, people!
― kornrulez6969, Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:36 (thirteen years ago) link
I just downed a can of Throwback Mountain Dew, so I'm wired. MORE! MORE!
― Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:37 (thirteen years ago) link
I think we got as far as Master of Puppets and I was basically like "if you're going to play me stuff like this, make it Anthrax or SOD"
― people are for loving (HI DERE), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:37 (thirteen years ago) link
this isn't the heaviest ever tracks poll (man that would see some fighting)
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:38 (thirteen years ago) link
Dan, this is from the album before master of puppets.
Can't fathom someone thinking Anthrax>Metallica.
― rhythm fixated member (chap), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:38 (thirteen years ago) link
lol you like S.O.D.????
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:39 (thirteen years ago) link
At least Boston wouldn't have been in it.

― Quo riff just isn't a suitable vehicle for interplanetary exploration (Ioannis), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:39 (thirteen years ago) link
fade to black easily belongs in any top ten metal poll
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:40 (thirteen years ago) link
yes, but he played me Master of Puppets first
well actually I think he played WASP first but that's neither here nor there
I didn't LIKE like SOD but I thought they were funny
― people are for loving (HI DERE), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:40 (thirteen years ago) link
wow Fade to Black made it! Nice! I voted for that too!
― demons a. real (Drugs A. Money), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:40 (thirteen years ago) link
wow that was great. I had never heard it before either.
― mass communal cyber air guitar (Viceroy), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:41 (thirteen years ago) link
^I will puke if that's the case.
― Chicago to Philadelphia: "Suck It" (Bill Magill), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:41 (thirteen years ago) link
Welcome Home > Fade to Black (though they're essentially the same song)
― Johnelle Fevráe (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:41 (thirteen years ago) link
Anthrax's punk attitudes were way more interesting to me that Metallica
― people are for loving (HI DERE), Thursday, 5 August 2010 20:42 (thirteen years ago) link
listening to NFL right now and it's making me so happy btw
viceroy you have no idea how wonderful the 1st 3 metallica albums are (ajfa has decent songs but shitty production with no bass and farting drums)
