End of Year: Mileage (nerdy stats alert)

July - finally made 500 miles (503 to be exact).

23 July - 20 Aug = 557 miles in 29 days
That'll be my peak for the year. Sadly my monthly total for August won't be anything like as high with the return to work denting my riding time. Annoying that my lengthy holiday has coincided with lengthy shit weather in Britain.

August 2010: 449.9 miles (August 2009: 486 miles)

2010 so far: 2,711.3 miles (2009 equivalent: 2,492 miles)

(Note: all my 2009 year-to-date totals on this thread have been 57 miles too low due to a mistake I've just discovered - I'm sure this won't trouble anyone too much)

Back to work and crap weather in September, so the miles have dropped off.

Sep 2010: 260 miles (2,971 for the year)
Sep 2009: 231 miles (2,723 for the year)

Still comfortably ahead of last year, but my target of 4,000 miles for the year is looking unlikely now.

357 miles in September, mainly thanks to a week away. Commutey commute commute.

Oct 2010: 381.7 miles (year to date = 3,352.9 miles)
Oct 2009: 301 miles (year to date = 3,024.5 miles)

Half-term holiday week just finished and got over 160 miles in to bump up this month's total.

A rather underwhelming 91.3 miles for November, though to be fair, only the criminally insane are cycling at the moment.

yeah basically. went out on friday night (when we got 8in) and it was frikkin brutal (not cold, just slow-going). took ages to get anywhere, and wrestling the bike made it feel like i'd been beaten up by the time i got home.

Not enough, and not enough with the computer on. I need to put the rinky dink computer on the commuter bike to actually capture a bunch of riding.

started this year off well with 45 mins of rollers as jetlag had me awake at 5am.

3,893 miles for 2010. Pretty disappointing. I'd have broken last year's (just over 4,000) easily without accidents & resultant injuries but you can't really say that.

Also, roller miles don't count :)

December was another hopeless month: officially ( http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/2010/december.html ) the coldest December for 100 years, snow and ice making it impossible to cycle for large chunks, and then a horrible cough-virus-fever thing which I'm only just starting to shake off. A miserable 118.1 miles.

First decent month of the year, not that it's done me any good in races. I seem to have improved my endurance at the expense of any speed.

378 miles for me. Also discovered I'd been overestimating my (current, extended) preferred route to work by 0.8 miles, so have taken 15 miles off both March and February in penance.

I'm certainly in decent form over shortish distances for my first two fun rides of the year in April, but I've got to start putting in the weekend miles to get the stamina up.

I don't commute (I live so close to where I work it's easier to walk) or do any really short rides. Most weeks I'm too busy with work and childcare to fit in more than two rides (including races) so I know in advance that my monthly total won't change today (unless I get the sack).
My month was made up of: 29, 71, 27, 16, 31, 41, 32, 38, 24, 35 and 28.

376 for the month. Slowly getting stronger.

I'm the opposite to NBS. Not really done any longer/pleasure rides at all this year, it's all 6-12 mile commutes of various kinds. I did 6 more miles than the figure above, for the purposes of accuracy.

I think in the interests of fairness we should combine my total with Mark's in future, to see what my total would be if I did any commuting, or what Mark's total would be if he did anything other than commuting. Then our stats might be slightly more competitive with those from the other side of the Atlantic.

I agree with this suggestion. Commuting plus fun = 616 miles per month! Go us!

A pretty pathetic 306 miles in April, which includes the 59 I did on the day of the London Classic. The double-double bank holiday basically took me out of the game for 10 days, and not being able to ride the fnrttc to Bognor lost me 80 more.

I clocked up 539 for July up to the 26th and then spent the best part of two weeks off the bike - just got back from holiday in France.

Another big month, 524 for August (and that's after zero miles in the first 8 days of the month)

261 last month. I have a feeling I will find that difficult to match this month; two weekends away and less favourable weather...

I did 302 for September. Only just realised that the month has changed: I wasn't able to ride for more than two weeks because of illness and stuff. Back out today and felt substantially less fit already.

only 227, mtb taking it's toll on mileage and time. Like every mtb ride involves 30-60 mins of driving that could otherwise be riding. it's bullshit, but built into the system.
