Rock and then some. :-)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 28 December 2007 00:07 (sixteen years ago) link

Hopefully the good news continues. I had a close friend go through this, and hopefully, like them, your main problem for 08 will be getting a decent hair cut. Good luck and get well.

Jedmond, Friday, 28 December 2007 01:24 (sixteen years ago) link

hey tim,

we never got to know each other during my brief time on ilm, however, even tho our musical tastes never really overlapped, i always enjoyed yer posts and absolutely loved hearing yer thoughts. Even used to go to skylarking just to read yer prose even if i had no idea what artists/tracks you were writing abt.

Just saw the updates on this thread, so sorry you had to go thru all this shit but happy to see all seems well with you now. All my best wishes.

peace, love & coffee

just clocked this from being on holiday and bummer bout the tumour Tim, but glad it came right with a little help form the surgeon of course...

...any ideas what caused it, like too much puter radiation or frustration with people not digging on 2step garage til it was to late or others not knowing what the difference was ??? :)

pollywog, Friday, 28 December 2007 12:28 (sixteen years ago) link

Thrilled to hear you're on the mend!

Now, get thee off-line and rest, young man; you've a whole New Year to prepare for.

Ha! My friend Josh and I were planning to do the all-nighter at Golden Plains - I believe they're playing 2-6am. But if our bodies allow, by all means... Hit me up on e-mail!

hey tim--

studio, tough alliance, air france, the embassy, that one empire of the sun track...

what am i missing?

also is there a thread besides balearic revival you post about this stuff?

♪☺♫☻ (gr8080), Monday, 24 November 2008 09:20 (fifteen years ago) link

I'm flattered by the notion that I am the font of wisdom on this stuff. I don't know though grady! :-(

I haven't checked out the Empire of the Sun album yet because I remain suspicious of them somehow. I guess I'm holding their popular embrace by Oz listeners against them, which is unfair given the same thing happened to the Avalanches.

Obv. there are specific Studio, Tough Alliance and Air France threads as well.

Is there some way the rest of us will be able to watch this cultural milestone?

Maximo Park Ji-Sung (Matt DC), Thursday, 12 February 2009 19:57 (fifteen years ago) link

xpost can tim f jump in + say whether this is going to be online at all???

just sayin, Thursday, 12 February 2009 19:57 (fifteen years ago) link

I asked him about it yesterday and I think net streaming was still up in the air -- needs to happen, of course. (Please.)

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 12 February 2009 20:15 (fifteen years ago) link

Ah if nothing else happens he can put it on YouTube.

Maximo Park Ji-Sung (Matt DC), Thursday, 12 February 2009 20:46 (fifteen years ago) link

BTW when I know anything more about this I will let you know.

I should note that the poster above makes it look like this show is about me. It's not. I'm a panelist; there's another panelist and a convener who is kind of the star of the show.

Tim F, Thursday, 12 February 2009 23:16 (fifteen years ago) link

this is a great idea for a show made even better by the fact that tim's on it.

Touring artists will be interviewed about the best (or worst) review they ever received, and what it meant to them.

I VOTE LADY GAGA

two weeks pass...

It's true, I've been googling the show and it hasn't even started yet - we'll be putting the episodes up on the site (<a href="http://dancingaboutarchitecturetv.com";>here</a>) each week, Tuesdays most likely. It starts tonight, LIVE (oh dear) at 9.30pm on C31!
