Why would you want more wives than concubines??????

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Thursday, 26 April 2007 15:11 (sixteen years ago) link

i kind of hate plato.
also, more wives is so they can cook me bigger meals. concubines don't cook, do they? they just fuck and dance.

Also I feel that it is polite to yield to oncoming foot traffic by going to the right. I get really annoyed when someone yields to their left.

what rankles my cankles = when 2 people (often fatteys) walk side by side taking up whole sidewalk and neither yields to oncomers AKA sidewalk chicken. i always barge thru for the win ^_^v

I have been called ma'am since I was like 24. it sucks.
i'm from virginia and am super polite to people in the service industry. but maybe that's from working at subway and olive garden in high school.

Yerac, Thursday, 26 April 2007 16:30 (sixteen years ago) link

i've stopped hanging out with people before who I thought were rude to the server.

Yerac, Thursday, 26 April 2007 16:31 (sixteen years ago) link

I think I became an asshole when I worked making ice cream in high school. One day I built a huge order for a guy with some like $8 sundae. I messed something up (vanilla waffle bowl instead of chocolate) and the dude watched me, standing right at the counter spend 5 minutes making that and all this other shit.

He goes, "I just have one question for you.... does that look like a chocolate waffle bowl to you?"

I should have told him to fuck off and quit there.

elmo argonaut, Thursday, 26 April 2007 16:36 (sixteen years ago) link

yeah, working in retail really made me appreciate service industry types.

re: southern people being polite vs. northern people being polite: I think southerners have a bluntness that can come off as pretty rude (we are all really good at saying horrible things in a nice voice), but we observe common etiquette (saying ma'am, sir, excuse me, etc.) moreso than northerners, who maybe don't observe common etiquette as much but are less likely to say "oh you are such a dear" in that incredibly condescending, actually-I-think-you're-an-idiot way.

and then you become solar energized

also, 10 tea bags for 4 cups of water!! it is possible that i am too poor/frugal for this (tea and water are the only things i drink! and beer/alcohol obv sometimes). are these regular orange pekoe bags that are usually good for a 2-cup regular pot of tea? or, like, 1-cup twinnings bags?
tea.

And incidentally, Cooks' Illustrated determined that Lipton teabags made the best and roundest iced-tea flavor of the mainstream brands. My problem is that last time I bought a box, the bags were individually wrapped in paper which is a huge waste. New mission: to find Lipton teabags boxed up without their jackets on. (Yes, Robyn, they are individual regular tea bags.)

tea.

rrrobyn, Monday, 30 April 2007 05:12 (sixteen years ago) link

i buy president's choice teabags that just all come in a box together, so no needless packaging. but i think pres choice is just cdn? it rocks btw. i am kind of annoyed with twinnings b/c they are now using this shiny thicker paper for the individual teabag wrappers and i have a bad feeling about its recycleability.

i know that loose tea is the best way to go though, esp for green tea, but for quality in general. but it is usually expensive. this tea talk is making me feel like a britisher.

rrrobyn, Monday, 30 April 2007 05:16 (sixteen years ago) link

Haha, yes. I don't think yr supposed to use any GOOD tea for iced, it's just a different beast than a hot cuppa -- you're adding so many other flavors, and serving it cooled, which makes things taste different too. No reason to use a premium brand.

xposty DUDES I am totally coming to that wedding, I love bonfires.
