I can't stop listening to this song. Just picked up the extended version on this extended versions bootleg series. I am happy about not paying $400.

A moderately epic troll that when there was finally an official reissue on a 12" it was a shorter edit of the 7" version and not the sought after extended version. And as if to add insult to injury, a no doubt yawnsome remix ;-)

I'm guessing it was a question of getting the rights and/or the original tapes but still wound people up.

it"s Goodbye Horses during that scene but Alone and The Fall's Hip Priest are played earlier in the scene.

fwiw, I don't feel like Buffalo Bill doing a mangina dance to Goodbye Horses is a cultural joke. The scene is amazing and made more deep and strange that it's played out to that song.

If you wanted to do a mangina dance to Goodbye Horses (as a friend of mine and stirmonster's has) then go for it! It's not a song that requires absolute reverence, imo.

Goodbye Horses is from at least 1988 because it was on the Married to the Mob soundtrack (Demme was definitely in her corner early).
