Sampling a couple of its songs on iTunes now...I totally forgot about "Empty Hands." Harmonium! Castanets!

Would love to hear Bam babble about this (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 22 July 2010 15:32 (thirteen years ago) link

I think the album with "It Ain't Over til It's Over" has got loads of nice slow funky jams like that on it? I could be wrong. I definitely heard one Lenny album I liked one time and it wasn't full of shitty pub rock tunes.

Thought this thread said "deny the existence of lenny kravitz" btw

There's this one he did for Vanessa Paradis which was like a more upbeat/less mellow version of "It Ain't over..." I like it but I don't know if I'm biased because of, well this:

When stuck in a car with 2 Stephen Lynch albums and a Lenny Kravitz album, it was nice to have something not actively offensive (well, maybe only slightly) to listen to

(Well, OK: I quite liked Are You Gonna Go My Way aged 12 and still get a slight guilty pleasure on the rare occasions I hear it)

He is/was arousingly sexy. Can't vouch for his music tho.

An Intimate Evening with Lenny Kravitz

Regarded as one of the preeminent rock musicians of our time, Lenny Kravitz has transcended genre, race and class into a 20-year musical career, one which revels in the rich influences of '60s and '70s soul, rock and funk. He's in NYC for one night only, to perform at Terminal 5, in which will be an awesome, intimate performance.

I've got no complaints about this song, especially being in the frame of mind the classic rock poll has put me in.

Holy shit, I just now listened to "The Chamber" which I presume was the first single from the album and this is sounding more and more like his "1982" record.
