huh def has me more encouraged for his new one w/ gina carrano cuz lem dobbs wrote that script too

johnny crunch, Saturday, 17 July 2010 23:27 (nine years ago) link

Kafka is a great little movie and its continuing unavailability on DVD makes no goddamn sense. Especially after The Limey, I'd love to hear Soderbergh and Dobbs on a commentary track for Kafka.

^otm

brewster mccloud was cool, lightyears better imo than like healtH or buffalo bill or popeye. end is fabulous and reminded me of stroszek, weirdly (which i know came later). shelley duval is great and bud cort is srsly harry potters

Oh wow, that bottom poster is amazing- what country is it from? And congrats on finding Brewster McCloud at all, that's not the easiest movie to track down.

Never mind, didn't see the hiragana for the boobs. Anyway, to ebay with me, that design is all time classic.

so I guess I don't understand thread title? this is not a brix&mortatr outlet?

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 27 July 2010 00:02 (nine years ago) link

is he a big deal? honestly, never heard of him or seen him before

whut. no it physically exists but also has a website i guess

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 27 July 2010 00:03 (nine years ago) link

where is it?

O.R. made a ton of Brit & US films in the '60s and '70s -- besides some Ken Russell films he was Bill Sikes in the Oscar-sweeping musical Oliver! -- but eventually became more famous for his legendary drunken behavior.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 27 July 2010 00:06 (nine years ago) link

also one of R.Lester's Three Musketeers

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 27 July 2010 00:08 (nine years ago) link

ok watched oliver reed on letterman on youtube -- dave def thought he was gonna get punched @ the end of that

johnny crunch, Tuesday, 27 July 2010 00:27 (nine years ago) link

chimes at midnight was, uh, challenging due to the sound & my dearth of shakespeare knowledge. the battle scene was pretty impressive but a lot of the rest of the style kinda annoyed me

labyrinth of passion wasnt too good, although the song almodovar performs could probably get released by dfa

Alan's Alley, the last Manhattan video rental store I am aware of, on the verge on being leased. I only ventured in once; looked like it was run by the Collyer brothers.
