Try the Co-op instead, might be lots cheaper.

what is "excess"? is that what american call the "deductible"? surely i don't have to pay that for each item i claim, but once for the whole enchilada if i get broken into or something.

thanks suzy - co-op is around 15 pounds a month and seems like a better package to boot

I get mine from Endsleigh, but it's more because they are good with weird suitcase-living international student scenarios. Not sure if they are particularly cheap, but they have the student market sewn up so presumably they can't be that expensive.

Yes, excess = you pay the first £x of the total of any claim.

Excess can be made per-item on specified individual high value/portable items (antiques, laptops, etc.) depending on the policy, so watch out for that.

eleven years pass...

Any particular recommended (UK) contents insurance? Nothing particularly valuable but I a 5000 or so CD collection might be difficult to replace.

Missed out the word "guess" somewhere along the line, there.

UK? We use royle insurance consultants to get the best quote, no fee. No cds but specific bike provisions.
