They seem very "look at you, you are awesome" whenever I've read them talking about it. which has generally been in the context of "Jack Thompson thinks gamers are a wart of society. How many millions of dollars worth of good has Jack Thompson given to charity lately?".

I'm not saying they're ideal humans, but they're good representations of gamers.

I also agree with Whiney, but not in a way that would make him happy.

I just played through Episode One tonight. It was really much better than I thought it'd be. I lol'd about 5 times.

i think part of why it's so irritating to find on the penny arcade comic page is that: well, obviously i. a single, static internet page isn't the optimum way of showing much other than a gag strip panel-cartoon; but mainly ii., penny arcade's function is more like 'videogame criticism + dick jokes' than it is 'fiction with many dick jokes'

so it's a bit like finding the book review page dedicated to the first two-thirds-of-a-page of someone's TV pilot script, is the thing

comics are um.

I still like their stuff, and Gabe's art skills are better in general, but I do think they've lost a bit of the energy/wit they used to have. Success tends to do that, though. Definitely good enough to stay in my webcomics RSS folder with the other dozens.
