This is a great series of threads, much better memory-joggers than #1s...this is the stuff that made up a lot more of the background of the radio back then.

I would have voted for "If You're Gone," which I've always thought had a great hook, probably the least annoying Matchbox 20 song ever. Up until this moment I'd almost totally forgotten about "Put Your Lights On," except as something I automatically say when someone is driving around at dusk without their lights on. The video is kind of hilarious insofar as Santana looks like he is begging for this footage to be used in a "shreds" YouTube thing....
