it seems like rather a vulpesian schtick, if yeh get meh...tho it is strangely seductive, dammit

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:26 (nineteen years ago) link

"Vulpesian"? Are you cussing in Irish?

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:29 (nineteen years ago) link

i'll come early and stay late and drink tequila and by the end of the night you'll hate me.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:30 (nineteen years ago) link

OK, THAT'S Vulpesian.

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:31 (nineteen years ago) link

Ah shit, does Vitalic clash with the Annie/ESG/Superpitcher/Fairley thing then? Fucksticks.

RickyT (RickyT), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:33 (nineteen years ago) link

I want to go to Optimo as well but that will mean juggling Seal nights because at the moment I think the 18th is the only night I'm doing at the moment. Argh, its all so *complicated*

Essentially, there are now no free weekends left until the FA Cup Final.

xpost - oh for god's sake. I'd been looking forward to Superpitcher.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:35 (nineteen years ago) link

Ah shit, does Vitalic clash with the Annie/ESG/Superpitcher/Fairley thing then? Fucksticks.

PERFECT!

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:37 (nineteen years ago) link

Vitalic is playing here this Thursday but I am DJing at our club. For many I expect it's quite similar to the Superpitcher/Vitalic clash, in London.

Ronan (Ronan), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:45 (nineteen years ago) link

superpitcher is always playing in london. vitalic comes but several times a year.

pete b. (pete b.), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:48 (nineteen years ago) link

i dunon if i'd survive Vitalic a second time but worth a shot, if not the other thing, if not both, somehow

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:50 (nineteen years ago) link

actually i will definitely go to the ESG/Superpitcher/Annie thing, and hope others will too - to the blagmobile!

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 11:51 (nineteen years ago) link

Me me me!

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 12:08 (nineteen years ago) link

aren't they on the Camden Crawl?

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 12:16 (nineteen years ago) link

I was hoping someone would make that joke, anyway no, they're at the Despondent Lapwing.

Anyway, I'm bored.

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 12:21 (nineteen years ago) link

I wish I could be part of this thread for real :-(

Tim Finney (Tim Finney), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 12:35 (nineteen years ago) link

ahh many good nights had at the Lapwing

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 12:35 (nineteen years ago) link

reciprocated TF(schwarz)

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 12:36 (nineteen years ago) link

ESG!

alix (alix), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 12:59 (nineteen years ago) link

Steve+Alix+Starry+Barima so far, looking good.

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:12 (nineteen years ago) link

er er er what is this, an ANTI-VITALIC mob brewing? pah!

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:29 (nineteen years ago) link

and Barima - are you coming over tonight or not?

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:29 (nineteen years ago) link

i'm hopefully in for the esg thing. off to glasgow the next day, but that shouldn't preclude my attendance.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:31 (nineteen years ago) link

Only if you sing Xtina's 'Come On Over, Baby'.

Truth is, it doesn't look like I'll make it. Solly.

x-p with lp

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:32 (nineteen years ago) link

fyi, esg are one of the best live acts i've ever seen - no offense to vitalic but they render him completely insignificant.

lauren (laurenp), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:33 (nineteen years ago) link

But will they allow me to dance on stage with them?

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:39 (nineteen years ago) link

I am Seal Clubbing on Friday, I have just been informed. It would be very nice if people came and supported me.

Everyone else mentioned on this thread renders me insignificant, probably even Stevem playing chess, but we do have some slightly unhinged groupies who dance to every single song every single week.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:44 (nineteen years ago) link

how do you rate their bottoms?

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:45 (nineteen years ago) link

8 and 6.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:46 (nineteen years ago) link

Haha oh dear.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:47 (nineteen years ago) link

encouraging

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:49 (nineteen years ago) link

Detail your playlist by names and/or genre, Matthew, and I may see if it dovetails into the non-babysitting prospective plans I have on Friday.

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:49 (nineteen years ago) link

And, yeah, I need new girls.

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:50 (nineteen years ago) link

This also means I can go to Optimo next week. Rah!

Playlist = indie - 80s new wave variety, synthpop (also of the 80s variety), occasional noughties haircut indie tune to placate people, electro, early 90s chart dance.

If you come I'll invite my sister.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:53 (nineteen years ago) link

I don't know anything about ESG!

Matt has already pimped out his unborn son to me and now his sister is going to Barima, that man has no shame at all.

The Lex (The Lex), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:54 (nineteen years ago) link

perhaps i should stay in them, who knows what he'll find me!

i am tempted by seal, as this weekend should be fairly sensible. it is either that or tweeindie at highbury corner with girls in hair slides and balding blokes

charltonlido (gareth), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Steve, I think the very existence of Club Seal was something we didn't factor into our pub convo last night.

Matt, OMG, really? I thought she was taken. Or, worse, is she '8'?

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:57 (nineteen years ago) link

Anna does a very good impersonation of ESG (tho it should be noted that i have never heard the members of ESG speak) - i think you would like them Lex, and Lauren is to be trusted on these matters

Barima is so hot right now

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:57 (nineteen years ago) link

This ESG?

Someone has to come to Vitalic. I've just bought a ticket!

Matt DC (Matt DC), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 13:59 (nineteen years ago) link

Barms, no, I did factor it in. like when i said 'no Killers, no Franz, and very little obvious poptimism' (ie basically i don't want anyone to actually attend)

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:00 (nineteen years ago) link

perhaps i should stay in them, who knows what he'll find me!

freudian of the day, incidentally

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:02 (nineteen years ago) link

I should start drinking at home - Seal isn't the sort of place where everybody plies me with spirits. I really want to bring my iPod since I saw the setup Colder and not-that-cute-really Output girl had at Cargo last night. There's a couple of Plus-Tech punk songs that would go down SO well.

And using that above example, I see no reason why we can't get indie kids interested, Ste. We can start small, and I'll use me "contacts".

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:05 (nineteen years ago) link

Matt I'm coming to Vitalic! He is with THE HACKER, there may be FADIN' AWAY.

I am sad about the terrible ESG rift, though. Also abt stevem stoppin' his trash-talking, the chess soon-loser.

Gravel Puzzleworth (Gregory Henry), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:46 (nineteen years ago) link

Vitalic virgins should probably get their cherries yoinked

Gravel, we could battle online perhaps

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:51 (nineteen years ago) link

Steve, I may, wear, a t-shirt, to ESG.

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 14:56 (nineteen years ago) link

I shall combine my two favourite things in the world, ESG and CHESS by making myeslf a CHESS BOARD OUTFIT for this momentous ESG/Superpitcher occasion. Do you think Superpitcher will be impressed? He's not gay is he? I'd just die, DIE I tell you. Should I try and be a DJ Groupie? I read about them in "The Guide" magazine once, apparently the worst type of DJ groupie is the type that when you wake up in the morning, instead of going through yr wallet, they're going through your RECORDS with a NOTEPAD.

I mean, this is nothing like me, of course.

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 15:05 (nineteen years ago) link

Hey Matt, if you play Soulwax's 'NY Excuse', you may not even need to invite your sis (Beastie Boys/Biz Markie - 'Your Sister's Def' is suddenly on repeat in my head).

Starry, haha!

BARMS, Wednesday, 9 March 2005 15:15 (nineteen years ago) link

You'll look like a fucking harlequin. I told you that look is so never in. xpost.

alix (alix), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 15:17 (nineteen years ago) link

Steve, I may, wear, a t-shirt, to ESG

leather vest, please

Sven Bastard (blueski), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 15:18 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh yeah, so you did. I thought I had thought of an original idea, have I had it before? Jesus I'm so glad I'm giving up the booze. Anyway ESG/Superpitcher/Annie is a lineup immediately downloaded from my BRANE so I'm totally going to be there.

Er, people who are going: perhaps we should invest in... tickets?

Lucretia My Reflection (Lucretia My Reflection), Wednesday, 9 March 2005 15:21 (nineteen years ago) link

superpitcher is pretty gay
