ckc ain't got no love for the slinger? no tears for lambeau?

today america has lost a patriot among the ranks of thomas jefferson and elvis

a true hero to all. in todays world where coverage of this multi billion dollar industry reads more like the wall street journal than a sporting contest the old gun slinger brought joy back to a small town trying to stay relevant in the land of the giants.

a film idea: we remake the classic john wayne western 'the shootist' into a modern day tale of football battle with the packers calling on favre to come back for one more game after aaron rogers rips his knee up in the nfc title game

also a true favre story: my friend was a ball boy due to secret suburban jew connections with the laurie and banner family. before the 4th and 26 game he was doing ball jew things when he heard 'hay kid throw me that damn ball' it was none other than the lord and savior himself and the two of them threw the pigskin around for a bit~

ok, my eyeballs are rolling around their sockets in independent circles after reading this.

Kinda fitting his last pass was an interception. Peter King must be devastated. He'll need someone else to fellate in his weekly column.

leavethecapital, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 21:30 (sixteen years ago) link

barring injury tom brady will be around for years, pete will be ok.

chicago kevin, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 21:48 (sixteen years ago) link

King can still fellate his Montclair Starbucks barista.

How long until Favre signs with the Dolphins? Or maybe the Vikings? Raiders?

Bill Magill, Tuesday, 4 March 2008 21:51 (sixteen years ago) link

one month passes...

"Aaron has fallen into a great situation," Favre said. "And if that opportunity presented itself and they did call, it would be tempting. And I very well could be enticed do it."

chicago kevin, Friday, 25 April 2008 18:45 (fifteen years ago) link

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun

David R., Friday, 25 April 2008 19:24 (fifteen years ago) link

In Favre's Mind, he's forever playing beach volleyball with Marco Rivera and Bubba Franks and Donald Driver under cheddar-colored skies, while Peter King in a speedo and green/yellow body paint serves him pina coladas served in bowls shaped like the Super Bowl Trophy. And Michael Strahan is cheering him on, shaking pom-poms and playfully pretending to fall down. And somewhere, off in the horizon, Mike Sherman is being eaten by sharks.

Poor Aaron Rodgers, jeez.

seriously, at what point does he just go ahead and say to the media "what the fuck? just what the fucking fuck?"

chicago kevin, Thursday, 3 July 2008 15:14 (fifteen years ago) link

Rodgers, meanwhile, has stirred up controversy himself this week. In a Sports Illustrated article, the quarterback said he didn't feel pressure to connect with fans the way Favre did.

"I don't feel I need to sell myself to the fans," he said in the article. "They need to get on board now or keep their mouths shut."

Pleasant Plains, Thursday, 3 July 2008 15:19 (fifteen years ago) link

nfl hardman! good for him

carne asada, Thursday, 3 July 2008 15:22 (fifteen years ago) link

God Favre is such a disingenuous twat. Does any other athlete have a similar ability to hold their entire team hostage?
