Why oh why do ILM Nate Dogg threads never mention "Oh No"?

uhhh, Dom, I'm your biggest fan, but buddy...Check my first post.

Right. I'll be off then.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Friday, 30 May 2003 08:33 (twenty years ago) link

I like Nate Dogg, I think his contributions are always great. 'oh no' is a great track.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 30 May 2003 12:00 (twenty years ago) link

Having Nate Dogg on your track seems to add some sense of instant gangsta credibility. Something about his authoritative, effortless flow makes you think "just listen to this guy, the song has to be good.."

Bobby D Gray (bedhead), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:14 (twenty years ago) link

He's not an R&B singer, he's a ghetto poet! Anyways, I think he adds a lot to the tracks he's on. Makes them seem a lot thicker, more fluid, and I guess 'epic' to misuse the word.

King Kobra (King Kobra), Friday, 30 May 2003 14:46 (twenty years ago) link

there is no one else in music like Nate Dogg. No one else has ever been used like Nate Dogg and no one has been nearly as consistently good as Nate Dogg. everything's been cool, but the more recent shit like "Get Down" (the one with Eve) and WC's "The Streets" ---he's actually moving forward and finding new sounds and styles.

you guys crazy? Nate Dogg IS THE KING OF G-FUNK. Without him, music would be nothing. His contributed to all kinds of genres. rap, rnb, slow jams, old skool... his done everything. And up the top, you say that he doesnt have a great voice? Why dont get some of the songs off G-Funk Classics Vol. 1&2 and see them. Or any song of his! Listen to his slow jamz.... this guy is a king. without him, music wouldnt be the same..

yeah, and he has a great chorus on 'ooh wee'.

but don't try listening to his solo album...you'll get sick of his smooth barotoney thuggery really quick.

Rapper Dogg paralyzed by stroke

Monday, January 21 2008, 12:39 GMT
By Alex Fletcher, Entertainment Reporter

Rapper Nate Dogg has been left paralyzed following a stroke over Christmas.

The 39-year-old hip-hop star, who is the cousin of Snoop Dogg, is unable to move his left side because of the illness.

Dogg, real name Nathaniel Dawayne Hale, was taken to Pomono Valley Hospital on December 20 after suffering the stroke, and is currently residing in an occupational rehab facility.

A representative of the singer told MTV: "Time will tell everything, obviously. The doctor can only guess what the outcome will be.

"But based on situations with similar people his age, and based on his health, the prognosis is good right now."

Dogg first appeared on Dr Dre's seminal hip-hop LP The Chronic in 1992, and has received four Grammy nominations.

one year passes...

Will Nate Dogg, the owner of perhaps the treacliest, most sonorous, and arguably most soulful voice, of any living vocalist, ever record again?

I for one think his stroke/ convalescence has been one of the greatest losses music has suffered in the last couple of years.

And it's such a shame that now they're all being forced to use his poor relation (literally Butch Cassidy) who even when he's good- such as on 'More Malice's 'So Gangsta, comes nowhere near Nate.

Tell me I aint alone.
