i had a cadbury creme egg a few months ago and i really thought it was gross, not an expected reaction. chocolate was crappy and the stuff inside was way way too sweet, hurt my teeth.

yeah the cadbury creme egg thread is a foreign land to me

I had forgotten about those caramel creams though!! they are really good. how do they keep the cream so soft, I wonder.

I bought myself a box of Cadbury eggs this Eastertime because it was the first time since time immemorial that I didn't get any as a gift. the trick is to scoop out the filling with the very tip of your tongue to maximize the cartoonish, technicolor sweetness in each bite. if you can't handle the intensity of the yolk, then you shouldn't even be occupying this planet afaic.

xxpost yeah, I wish they sold large volumes of that white Goetze cream by the jar or tube. it reminds me of a dryer, crumblier version of certain cake frostings, but its pillowy softness is a mystery for the ages, aye.

wheeee! candy gifs!

i used to eat a lot of candy until i was about 27, and then my body decided that candy made me sick and fat. so i don't eat candy anymore (sugar was a really hard habit to break - i think it took 4 or 5 years). but i can still love it from afar. i still think the science of finding perfect combos of texture + flavour is what makes candy awesome.
(i too think chocolate candy is a totally dif category)

- cherry nibs - the best - http://www.hersheycanada.com/en/products/details/twizzlers/images/full_nibs.jpg
- anything sour gummy
- those 'healthy' berry-juice gummies
- skittles!
- runts or other small candies with hard exterior, powdery interior
- twizzlers, cherry or licorice
- starburst/mambo

my tastes in candy have expanded and changed as i have gotten older.

my taste in hersheys miniatures has been widely disseminated across ilx.
watermelon and green apple jolly ranchers are a treat. i have a new taste for skittles of all types. still love runts and spree. twizzlers i think i have always been into; prefer regular black licorice and strawberry to the pull-and-peel variety, but i like all of them. starburst are good, especially the pink ones. sometimes i eat reg or peanut m&ms. i no longer like reese's products. thank you.

boston baked beans - yes

i love cadbury flake and mint aero chocolate bars. english chocolate is my favorite because it tastes kind of muted and doesnt feel like its coating my throat and suffocating me to death like some american or german chocolates.

the powder at the bottom of a bag of sour skittles. this should be sold independent of a skittles candy. it makes my entire mouth hurt, but especially the tongue part.

i know your nuts hurt! who's laughing? (contenderizer), Friday, 14 September 2012 00:06 (eleven years ago) link

I really like jelly beans but jelly bellies are insultingly overpriced

iatee, Friday, 14 September 2012 00:11 (eleven years ago) link

the jelly belly factory tour in fairfield ca is totally worth it tho, you get to see a picture of reagan made out of jelly beans, among other things, and then you get free jelly beans instead of paying like $5 a bag

iatee, Friday, 14 September 2012 00:15 (eleven years ago) link

i got my sister kelly some of these awesome wine flavored jelly things once but i dont know what they were called. they might be british? they were good

jello my future biafriend (roxymuzak), Monday, 5 January 2015 19:39 (nine years ago) link

yes b/c that's where they moved the lime flavor!

example (crüt), Monday, 5 January 2015 19:40 (nine years ago) link

it really brought out the "dark side" in me when they changed the green skittle to apple flavor

example (crüt), Monday, 5 January 2015 19:43 (nine years ago) link

ugh, i didnt know that happened. i like skittles but dont eat them very often. this is sad news indeed

I will never tire of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures.

how's life, Thursday, 22 January 2015 20:28 (nine years ago) link

I'm eating fruit slices right now and it is amazing.

carl agatha, Thursday, 22 January 2015 20:29 (nine years ago) link

Those can definitely scratch a certain itch you didn't realize you had. I wouldn't want to eat them often.
