Actually I think the journalist is being a bit of a dick for having a go at MIA for - shock horror - moving to a neighbourhood full of rich white people like she's the only non-white pop star ever to have done that. And the bit about her having the temerity not to have a water birth is lame.

Feels like MIA's been told she's an Important Artist so often she's lost sight of what made her good in the first place.

Her music is obviously great but this interview looks to be pretty rough for her. It's hard to be a convincing revolutionary when you're engaged to the son of the Seagram owner.

From this 9 page article, she comes off as a walking talking Che t-shirt, a mangled mix of confused politics, pop-hop and a blend of cheap fashion accessories. Her gross ignorance of the Sri Lankan conflict and outright support of a known terrorist organization is unforgivable.

This has become such a boring and repetitive affair. Another rich and extravagant pop star who munches on truffle-filled french fries, while sitting in posh Brentwood mansion, espousing grade school level geo-political ideas while praising war and violence in the name of 'justice'.
