http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/11/dining/11Fieri.html

Mr. Fieri, with partners, runs three branches of an Italian-American pub called Johnny Garlic’s; and two hybrids of California-style sushi and Southern barbecue called Tex Wasabi’s. Johnny Garlic’s serves dishes like Cajun chicken pasta Alfredo; a signature dish at Tex Wasabi’s is found in the “gringo sushi” portion of the menu: the Jackass Roll, filled with pulled pork, avocado and French fries.

“A lot of people who like sushi don’t really like raw fish or seaweed,” he said. “So I make what they do like.”

Aerosol, Wednesday, 11 August 2010 11:51 (thirteen years ago) link

i used to know one of the bartenders. he moved to las vegas to serve $3 cosmos but he says the tips are bigger.

it's hard to describe the neelys -- they're a couple and their show is weirdly sexual & the husband is just freaking bizarre

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 21 September 2010 19:28 (thirteen years ago) link

i really started to enjoy diner drive-ins and dives after the missus pointed out how OBVIOUSLY totally baked he is half the time on that show

ddd is one of my favorite shows on tv

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 21 September 2010 19:34 (thirteen years ago) link

then again i watch food network from the hours of 2 pm - 5 pm every day so \(o_O)/

the best part of ddd is when the ppl are genuinely weirded out by him and would obv rather not be doing the show cuz he's like constantly fist bumping

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 21 September 2010 19:35 (thirteen years ago) link

I'm on record for my endorsement of the Neelys, terribly earnest pop psychology lectures to the camera and all.
