I want to kill everyvody I play horseshoes with

played blackjack for an hour and a half last night and lost about $10 :/

glad they corrected my main issue w/GTAIV: the mini games and peripheral activities (hunting, random prairie encounters) are mostly actually fun this time out

on a river bed, i found an old man doubled over holding his head. woman laid out in front of him, bloody and dead. When I stopped and walked up to him, he stood up and shakily held a gun to his own head. I ran up and pushed him and he dropped the gun and alternated between weeping and staring at me angrily until I rode away.

i also shot a dude in the balls and then the head who was trying to knife rape a prostitute outside a bar.

my online persona is a bit of a dick but I'm jimmy goodguy in the single player

I saw the same suicidal dude, but I spent 10 seconds looking at the scene, trying to figure out what the hell was going on, before he killed himself. Most of the little challenges I fail are because I'm sitting there twiddlin' my thumbs trying figure out who to shoot.

ok, when you buy a horse, where is it?

You have to choose it from you item and "use" it, which then switches it in as your default horse.

this game is fun. I haven't even tried multiplayer yet. having too much fun with the single-player.

I did see a guy get off his horse in the wilderness and start peeing into a river under a bridge.

I lassoed a guy off a hooker to try and go the taking him alive route, but it just made him fall headfirst into a wall and he died anyway.

The drunk guy that sometimes falls out of the bar seems to be immune to punches. I tried to lasso his body to drag him to the cells for the night and he disappeared, leaving only his hat.

I kind of hope they don't patch any of that shit.

and the women getting lynched thing... i think i failed a couple of those already :/

i've put in an alarming amount of time in on this in the past 48 hours

Cannibal was creepy, wasn't sure whether to just shoot him immediately because he was such a blatant cannibal

Yeah I'm not much of a "sit down and play a game for a long time in one stretch" person but I played for about 2 hours straight this afternoon

came across some camp w/a guy preparing to feast on a hogtied feller, campsite was strewn with bones, limbs and a p.detailed severed head

Nb can I not interact with dogs? I feel like I should feed that dog that's always running round.

Ok, got this today, about to go and get started, and I'm deciding in advance that I'm going to play against my usual nice guy type, and just be a bit of a shithead to pretty much everyone.

The shithead approach can get out of hand quick; you could kill a whole town if you wanted! I'm sure somebody is playing as a mass murderer as we speak.

Could the "flying man" thing be a cheat code?

Anyone had any luck with the treasure maps? I'm not sure if they come in a certain order or if it's random, but the first one I got has a noose in the corner of it. I haven't recognized any of the landmarks from the treasure map while traveling around. And I think that you can't move on to the next treasure map until you solve the first.

the noose is a real big clue.

The "I." and "II." on the map also confuse me. I would suck as a real life treasure hunter.

lol. the I. refers to the first landmark and the II. is the second thing to look for, in that vicinty.

I was just trying to find the treasure! I know what the landmark is but couldn't find a place near it that looked like the drawing.

I can't imagine ever not wanting to play this game.

It's pretty great, but suffers from sandbox syndrome; I get lost and distracted constantly and lose the thread of the game proper. Like I don't think I've talked to the chick who saved me since I went to the new town and I gather that's the crux of the game.

I'd recommend playing bonnie's missions forks; that way you'll get the lasso

the noose map is kind of messed up. you have to poke around the area for a bit to find the treasure.

is there another spot to find boar other than the one just to the north of bonnie's ranch? my bait is just pulling cougars and wolves now. need to level up my hunting skillz.

I'm enjoying this a lot right now, but I'll admit that my enthusiasm for all the GTA games I've played dropped off significantly after a few weeks, so we'll see if the same thing happens here. However, I think RDR might last longer; the controls seem more intuitive and the missions don't seem as frustrating (so far) and it's more fun riding around in the wilderness alone than in a city full of people.

each one of these missions is a really fun set piece. kudos R!

mission design has been a huuuuge weak spot in every sandbox game i've ever played, up to and incl GTAIV. so, tears of thankfulness over here.
